complications - Maria Hill

chapter 4- first day

It was one day after I arrived and I had settled in quite well I had found a nice apartment a couple of miles away and I had settled in my new office.

(A/N this is the apartment layout couldn't find an office layout but you can use your imaginations for that)

I was playing on my Xbox sat on the sofa in the living room. It was around 6 am so I wasn't expecting any guests or going to work at any point so I was just in a pair of light grey joggers and a black sports bra.

I was halfway through my Heist raging the people in the game when I looked up to see Hill just stood there leaning on the wall hand on her hip.

"What the hell are you doing here,," I said confused about why she was in my home.

well I did nock but you didn't answer and your door was open so" she said sitting next to me.

"do you not have my number... anyway why you here I am in the middle of something," I said referring to the game.

"well you do I have a job or did you forget from the weed you did last night," she said raising her eyebrows at me.

"what I didn't do any weed last night or drink," I said turning back to my game.

"so that whole set up with the rollers, bong and lighter wasn't used at last night and that green stuff in the baggy is gonna be grass and not weed," she said to be.

"well good Detective work agent now what do you really want that involved your hot ass to come all the way overhear" I said interested.

"fury wanted me to come and get you so you don't make a detour on the way to work like he thinks you will," she said flustered from my flirty comment.

"wow that man thinks so little of me," I said turning my game off to go shower.

"well I am going to shower help yourself to anything but not my office don't go in there please," I said.

I had showered and I walked out in a nice suit.

I walked out of the bathroom to Maria sat on my couch staring into space.

I grabbed my phone, keys, wallet, and key =card for work. and still,, see that she was staring into nothing.

"Maria,," I said still nothing.

I sat next to her "hey hot stuff we gotta work" I said genuinely concerned.

she came back from whatever work she was in and hummed "what's up "

"Hill you have just been staring into space for I don't know how long and you look like absolute shit you doing good," I asked.

"you just haven't been sleeping let's go" she stood up but wobbled a bit.

"alright I am driving you clearly aren't in the right mind to drive or work for that matter come on." I held her up as we walked to the garage to the car. I put maria into the passenger and I went into the driver's seat ready to drive to work.

around five minutes into the drive I looked over to Hill at a red stop to see her head facing me on her shoulder drifting off to sleep but fighting it.

"stop fighting t Hill," I said driving as the lights went green.

what do you mean" she said obliviously.

"sleep goes to sleep your safe with me I ain't going anywhere," I said.

"Why are you so nice to me we met not ever a week," she asked.

"just go to sleep we will talk about it later," I said. 

we had finally arrived and I decided to get the less obvious way the back way so we didn't run into people for Hill's sake of being well like she is and well me also because I do like people that much. I parked and looked over to Hill passed out looking peaceful.

"let's just hope she is nice when getting woke up," I said to myself.

I got out of the car and to the passenger side to wake Maria up.

"hey ride and shine sleeping beauty time to get up" I teased shaking her.

she opened her eyes and stretched.

"morning lets go to my office " I murmured to her 

"kmay," she said getting out of the car.

I opened my office door with one hand whilst my other was around Hills waist thank god we didn't bump into anyone.

I gentle placed her onto the large comfy couch and put a black blanket over her body.

"go to sleep," I said.

I closed the blinds on the window and turned to window brightness don for her.

I was getting some work done when someone knocked on my door.

I said come in. and then door opened to see Fury walk in.

I placed my finger to my lips and pointed to a passed out Hill on my couch as he walked in. I saw him smile at her sleeping form he turned back to me and sat n the sea in front of my desk.

"I'm guessing you were looking for sleeping beauty over there," I said.

"yes and no but I was just wondering how my favourite Agents were doing," he said turning to her sleeping form gain.

well she looked like shit this morning almost passed out in my apartment and fell asleep in the car wok up to come up here and has been like that since this morning how hard has she been working"

"a lot actually it's like she doesn't stop it's quite worrying "he admitted which is odd for him.

"oh wow she must be overworking herself to make you concerned," I said.

"well, I gotta sort out missions for Romanoff and barton watch her make sure she eats and is hydrated the last thing I need is her in the infirmary," he said walking out of my office.

I walked over and woke her up to get her feed.

"you need to stop overworking yourself hot stuff alright," I said as her head was on my shoulder eating some grapes.

"got it," she said.

"promise," I said lifting her head to look at me.

"promise thanks for looking after me today and sorry for making your first-day shit" she admitted.

"hey hot stuff no matter how long I have known you your my partner and that automatically makes your health and safety one of my many priorities, okay and I know you pretty well you like your work and very stubborn about taking breaks" I laughed.

we spent the rest of the day talking until everyone went on home. probably a great first day spending it will someone I'm falling for. CRAP.
