chapter 19

it was the next morning and I woke up to Maria moving around. I opened my eyes and saw that she was still fast asleep resting her head on my chest, I slowly tried to move her from under me without waking her when I successfully did that I put my underwear on and went into the kitchen to make a coffee. 

when drinking my coffee I was on my phone looking through my emails when I had one from Fury and saw that there was a tab so I went to my computer to open it and saw that it was a bunch of work for the compound. I grabbed a pen and notepad and started working.

*couple hours later*

I don't know how long I was working but I had gotten through 3/4 out of the however many documents there were that had to go through, Maria was still asleep well I thought she was until he sat in my lap. 

"morning" I smiled.

"morning" she groaned.

"what's the matter," I asked her kissing her forehead.

"everything hurts" she whimpered.

"oh, my baby," I said rubbing her back and snickered.

"hey that is not nice it really hurts" she whined.

"oh okay, you want some pain meds and ill call in sick for you" I smiled and she nodded her head.

I picked her up and she wrapped her legs around my waist I walked to the kitchen and gave her some pia meds and a bottle of water from the fridge and sat her on the side and went to go grab my phone to call Fury.

once I called Fury I walked back into the kitchen to see her eating a banana and still sat on the side.

 "you now have today off," I said.

"Thanks, baby," she said grabbing the back of my neck and attaching it to me like a koala.

"seems me like you will be helping me work" I laughed and carried her to my desk and sat down.

"what are you doing anyway," she asked.

"well I am finishing off the stuff for fury so that the exterior can be finished off," I said

"How far along are there," she asked looking through the blueprints that were on my desk.

"well, they have the entire base of it finished all the rooms have been put in they have almost finished the part for the Agents so the only thing that needs to be finished is the interior part like putting waterworks plumbing decor all that good stuff which I am now finishing of I just have to write it up properly and then it will all hopefully fingers crossed finished by the next couple of months until then the moving part will start," I said.

"oh wow that has gone pretty fast," she said.

"oh yeah well I mean they did start it like I don't know a year before we even knew about it but then again at how big the perimeter is and how much detail they have put into it they have done a very good job," I said. 

we were talking a bit more until my phone rang I answered it "hello "

"Hey you need to get your ass down here right now," Fury said in a bit of a panic.

"what up," I said moving Maria off of me and going to the bedroom to get ready.

"it's Barnes he is freaking out really bad and nobody can calm him down," he said.

"do you know what might off caused him to freak out," I said walking out of the bedroom dressed grabbed my car keys and wallet and ran out of the door?

"We are looking through the cameras and he is seemed agitated, fidgety I don't know how to explain it he also looks like he is or was in pain," he said.

"okay has he been eating, drinking, sleeping I mean he is as fragile as a toddler? is he being violent" I asked rapidly whilst racing down the roads in my car. 

"he hasn't been sleeping he has just been looking at the same wall. food rarely but I mean what do you expect Hydra didn't feed him or give him drinks well that we know of and with the violence yes he is being violent but he is still Barnes and not the winter soldier which helps" he said just as I pulled in front of HQ awaited by two agents.

"well I am here now so I'll be there in a minute," I said and hanging up and running to was Bucky is with the two agents behind me.

When I got there I saw Fury and a bunch of Agents in full swat suits ready to raid his room and take bucky out. I walked over to Nick and saw to the computer in his hand of the camera in his room he had rashed the place everything broken and he was now trying to smash the door and windows.

"wow wow nobody goes in that room you hear me, stand down," I said to the agents.

"what are you doing," Nick asked.

"he isn't angry he is distressed he is scared he feels trapped. what I need is everyone to the back of him give me some sedative and I will sort him out" I said.

"are you crazy," he said to me.

"no I am not I am not going to let anyone hurt him okay let me do this," I said.

one of the Agents gave me a syringe and the rest backed of from the door but still, on high alert, I opened the door and walked in I saw bucky trying to smash the window.

"buck," I said calmly.

he turned around and once I saw his face I instantly knew something was wrong. "what's the matter can you calm down" I said.

he just stood there, I took this to move closer to him once I was in front of him I touched his left shoulder and he flinched.

"does it hurt," I said pointing to his left shoulder where the metal arm meets his shoulder?

"Can I take your shirt off?" I said and he slowly nodded? I got his shirt off and saw that it was a nasty colour you could tell just by looking at it that it was infected and painfully.

"fury gets a doctor n here asap," I said to the cameras.

I looked back at buck and said "is this what is causing this buck" and he looked at me, he looked like a kicked puppy. 

a doctor came into the room and looked at bucky's arm and said "we need to get this arm of it is infected and is causing the metal to dig into the skin and for all, we know it could be poisoning him causing this behaviour."

"Fury call Stark now, "I said and the doctor left.

"okay buck this is what is going to happen we are going to the lab so that Stark can get that arm off and then we can make it better," I said.

"what will happen will I have another arm again," he asked.

"we will figure something out ok," I said. we both stood up and walked out of the room I grabbed his hand and walked to the lab.

when we walked in Tony was already there setting up the operation. "come sit here we need to put you to sleep for a bit so it doesn't hurt" Tony said. which caused buck to instantly look at my his eyes filled with fear. 

"I'm not going anywhere I promise," I said and got back on the table and asleep.

I walked out of the room and not the one-way mirror where Natasha, Fury and Steve were. 

"is he going to be ok," Steve asked,

"he will be fine might need a couple of weeks to adjust but will be fine," I said 

"what about his arm" nat asked.

"I will sort that I just need to make a call," I said walking out of the room. 

I got my phone out and rang that person and they answered "hey shuri I need a massive favour"

SORRY I HADNT POSTED I HAD BEEN BUSY WITH MY MOCK EXAMS ABUT I AM IN ISOLATION BECAUSE SOMONE GOT COVID IN MY YEAR GROUP SO HOPEFULL I WILL BE POSTING MORE AND THE SCHOOL YEAR IS ALMOST OVER SO I WILL PRBABLY POSTING EVERYDAY.
