complications - Maria Hill

chapter 34

it had been a couple of months since the gender reveals party and we had just finished the baby's nursery. Maria was now 7 months and the baby had been giving her a bit of bother with the Braxton hicks, they came around a bit early which was a bit of a worry but bruce said it would be fine but I wasn't so sure.

we were sat in the main room trying to find a baby name we had rounded it down to 3 and 4 names but then we didn't want a middle name well that was the plan anyway but we were going to figure it out once he is in our arms. I noticed that Maria's breathing had become a bit odd.

"hey you good," I said and she nodded as her eyes were closed.

"no it's not is it the baby," I asked and she nodded and then gasped.

"I'm in labour my water just broke," she said and I looked down the see her trousers socked.

"shit," I said and helped her up.

"come on," I said "Jarvis get bruce into med now please Maria is in labour"

"yes, sir," the Ai said.

we slowly made it to med and bruce and some others where was already there.

"Hey guys," he said and she sat on the bed.

they got her into a hospital gown and started to monitor the baby and maria.

"so your labour is progressing very very quickly and on the way here you have already made it to 7 cm so you know baby is gonna have to be out," he said and I looked at Bruce shocked.

"Are they gonna be okay she's only 7 months?" I asked.

"well it is early and the baby isn't fully developed but you are coming to 8 months in what 2 days which makes it better once the baby is out we will be able to know more but I know for a fact that he won't be able to breathe properly on his own and he's gonna be very small but who knows," he said and went to go get the stuff to deliver the baby.

"looks like we're gonna have two sons in like 20 ish minutes time," she said.

"yeah it's crazy thank god Seb is staying at clients tonight," I said and she nodded.

for the next 20 minutes, maria was fully dilated and was pushing.

"ok I can see the head one more big push," the nurse said I held onto Maria's hand as she pushed for 10 seconds and then sighed.

 I looked up saw the nurse had peanut in her arms and handed her off to two other doctors.

"is he ok," I asked. and just as I said that he started to cry.

"he's looking good congratulations you have a baby boy," she said.

I looked at Mia and kissed her "you did so good baby I'm so proud of you"

they got maria and the baby all sewed up and cleaned up and the nurse came back in with the incubator.

"so he is having little breathing problems but in about 3 ish weeks he will be okay and ready to go he is 4 pounds 1 onze and 18 inches," she said taking him out and placing him onto Maria's chest.

"oh aren't you a stunner" I whispered stocking his hair.

"oh yes your gorgeous I love you so much," she said kissing his head.

"sed is gonna love him," I said taking a picture and sending it to the group chat.

my phone rang and I saw it was clint's face-timing I answered and sebs face popped up "hey buddy" I said.

"Hi daddy," he said.

"guess what," I said.

"what," he said.

"your little brother is hearing and wants to say hello," I said and his jaw dropped making me smile.

"really daddy" he shouted.

"really baby here," I said facing to camera towards maria and peanut.

"hi baby," Maria said.

"hi mummy," he said.

"Seb this is your little brother," she said.

"he's small," Seb said.

"he is very small," she said.

"When I see you," he said.

"soon baby in a could hours uncle clint is gonna drive you home soon okay bud," I said and he nodded. 

we hung up and I put my phone down. it was my turn to hold peanut so I sat in the chair with my shirt off and they put him in my arms and covered him with his blanket,

 "so names," she said.

"what are you thinking," I asked.

"I'm thinking Alfie," she said and I nodded.

"he is an Alfie what about the middle name," I asked and she shook her head.

"no not this one," she said.

"you thinking of more," I asked and she nodded.

"yeah I would like a girl," she said and I nodded.

there was a knock on the door and it opened to see the team and they all slowly came in.

"Hey, guys," I said.

"hey," they said and one by one came and hugged Maira and came to see  Alfie.

everyone was sitting around when Nat asked "so we got a name for the peanut"

"We gotta wait for clint and Seb" Maria and just as she said that seb walked in with his pacifier and blanket in hand.

"baby," he said coming toward me.

"Yeah bud your little brother," I said he nodded then walked over to Maira.

clint walked in. "so now that everyone is here we have peanuts name," Maria said and looked at me.

"guys this is Alfie Mckenzie," I said.

everyone awwed and congratulated us and then the doctor came and said it was feeding time for Alfie so the others went leaving us and Seb who had fallen asleep at the end of the bed with his ass in the air.

"you wanna go take in its bed and you go get some sleep," she said.

"you sure," I asked.

"yeh I'm not going anywhere and neither is Alfie you both need sleep and if anything changes with him ill call you," she said and I nodded knowing not to argue with her.

I picked Seb up and walked into our room area and put seb into his room and in his cott. then I got into bed making sure my phone is on loud so I don't miss anything and fell asleep.
