You don't need to guess because yes, me and Ryan became the hottest topic on the school forum for 5 freaking days. The only good thing about Ryan doesn't go to school is, I don't need to get more attention as I already had because I know he really likes to show us off so that will feed everyone with more tea to talk about. Literally, almost everywhere I go, I can feel people looking at me. I don't know it's good or not but I just don't wanna know.
Harley says that 99% of the comments are good and says that we make a really good couple and probably the representative of the 'couple goals' of our school. Heck, power couple is the actual name but I don't think I'm comfortable to say it myself. Ryan? He is so proud to hear that, that he always says he wants to go to school just to see people's reactions. Kinda childish, I know. But of course, he can't. I'm actually a little glad that people can accept the news positively because I don't like criticism that much.
"Look, everyone loves seeing you guys together. 'They're meant for each other!', 'Ryan and Abigail are my new fav couple right now', 'The visuals are unreal and they are so cute'. 'Power couple, periodt'." Harley keeps on updating me the comments they leave on the forum which I don't really like to hear because it feels like a burden to live up to their expectations.
"Harley, seriously. You need to stop. I've been listening to it everyday." I say while eating my mashed potato.
"You know what, the video when you guys kissed on the game day, got 18k views. By far, the most watched video to ever be posted on the forum. It's crazy! And most of them hope to see Ryan at school just to see you two together."
"18k views? We had that much students in here?" I widen my eyes.
"Nope, but maybe some of them just giggling by themselves and watched it multiple times?"
I sigh, "I didn't expect this kind of reaction but I clearly didn't really like that people praising us so much. It means they pay attention to us. And one day, either both of us will make mistakes." I play my fork on the salad, losing my appetite.
"Abby, you know they won't talk about it for too long, right? Of course the title 'power couple' might stay with you as long as you are in this school but they don't interrupt with your private lives. That's the rule." Harley says.
"And after new gossips come in, they will change the direction of their topic. And it goes like that." She continues.
I just nod slowly.
"You know what, A? I noticed how you worry too much for the future or what will happen. You need to enjoy the present, Abby. Stop worrying for something that is unsure and just make the best out of now. That's how you enjoy your life. We're still young."
Harley is right. I think I kinda paranoid and always overthink. That is also why I almost got in a fight with Ryan. I know it's not healthy but I just... I don't know. Be careful? I just need to enjoy what I have right now and face whatever comes in the future. There's always a solution, after all.
When I'm home, I shower and get into a comfortable clothes before I call Ryan. I call his number and I hear he says hello on the other line.
"Hye. You okay?" The last time I visit him is on Tuesday and now it's already Thursday. I've been busy with one of my group projects that needs to be done before the summer break and tomorrow is the last day to submit.
"Yup, totally fine. I can walk now. No worries."
"You really? Don't force yourself. Get more rest if you need."
"No, baby. I'm completely and perfectly fine. And I need to go to school tomorrow before the break starts. I need to get some stuffs done."
"What? But why? I thought you need to rest for at least a week?"
"I met the doctor this evening and he said I'm completely alright now so he just gave me the MCs for 4 days."
"Oh." I can't argue more because he said, 'the doctor said'.
"So, see you tomorrow? I'll drive."
"Uhm, okay. See you. Good night."
"Good night too, baby. I love you."
"I love you too."

We go to school together and when we arrive, I almost hesitate to get out because I know people will look at us as soon as I open the door. But, remembering that this is the last day before summer break, heck just let's get through this. After all, I have Ryan.
I come out and hang my bag over my shoulder and take Ryan's hand that he offers me and we walk together hand in hand into the school. I've never been this nervous but no one is looking weirdly at us so I guess that's good. Just some of them greeting Ryan saying that it's good to see him healthy.
He sends me to my locker and surprisingly, Harley is not there. He looks at me and asks, "Where's Harley? Doesn't she always early?"
"Yeah, she does. I don't know, let me check my phone." I unlock my phone and see a message from Harley. Of course she doesn't forget to update me.
Harley: Hey, babe. I overslept and might be late. If you want to go to class first, it's fine. I'll meet you at lunch, okay?
"She overslept. The summer breaks hasn't started yet and she overslept." I show my phone to Ryan and shrug.
I reach my locker lock, and open them.
"Your birthday? That's too easy to guess, baby."
What? Oh, my password.
"Well, that's what I can come up with since I don't really good at memorising unimportant numbers."
"Says the girl who won the maths competition." He shakes his head.
Then, Ryan holds my locker door and change the password. 1807. His birthday. As if that's any better.
"There, I change it."
"And that is not obvious and easy to guess?"
"It is, but if someone tries to open it with my birthday, at least I know that he or she knows that I'm your boyfriend."
I narrow my eyes at him and say, "That's so cheesy. I'm very sure by now that everyone knows that though." And he just chuckles.
I continue to tidy up my book and take some for today's schedule while Ryan leans on the locker next to mine which is Harley's, looking at me. I'm pretty sure that today's class will be full of summer breaks speech from the teachers instead of real class. They also know we couldn't focus much on a day before breaks, obviously.
I put the books in my bag and step back to close the door again before realizing that some people are walking behind me and I almost bump into them.
"Whoa, be careful." Ryan takes my waist so quickly that I almost gasped at his fast reflex. My grip on my books are tighter now that my face now just few inches away from Ryan's face with his hands still on my waist.
"Sorry, bro. I didn't see her there, I was talking." Says the boy who almost bump into me as he was talking with his friends while walking just now.
"No, it's okay. We're sorry too." Ryan says with a smile. And just like that, he dismisses with his friends.
"I think you can let me go now." I make a boring face at him.
"Oh, I don't realize I was holding you." How sarcastic. He lets go of my waist with one hand and I reach the locker again to lock it with his other hand still on me. He leans his shoulder on the locker now so that he can keep on holding me.
"You just enjoy taking the chance, don't you?" I look at him again after I finish and take his hand to go get his books next before going our separate ways to class.
And just when I think the news about me and Ryan will start slowing down, it didn't. Because we made the hot topic again. I just hope they'll stop when the break ends.
