My summer breaks are fully booked for spending times with the important people. Harley, Ryan, Mom and even Uncle George. If you think that Mom and Uncle George are getting serious, you're right.
Harley is so excited to go to an amusement park with me because of the hot air balloon. I know it's supposed to be a couple thing but I guess she just loves me more than anything and me too. Ryan plans something for us too but he says it's a surprise and I need to wait until the day comes. I'm nervous but mostly excited.
So, Ryan supposes to take me out on Saturday so he texts me on Friday.
Ryan: Pack some clothes bcs it will be 2 days trip. And don't worry, I asked your Mom. She gave me the permission ;)
What? He's taking me to a 2 days and 1 night date and he told Mom before me? What a gentleman act. Despite the fact that I'm unsatisfied about that fact, I replied,
Me: So, Mom knew before me, eh? This date better be good. What clothes do I need to pack?
Ryan: Haha, sorry baby. Anything casual and comfy for summer. Not formal please :p
I roll my eyes at his reply.
Me: Alright. See you tomorrow. <3
Then, I go straight to my closet to look for anything 'casual and comfy' to wear. Of course, not sweatshirt. Well, actually I've already thought about outfit when Ryan says we're going to a date early this week. So, I already have an outfit for the first day, not knowing that I need at least 2 outfits.
I go through some clothes and found a dress that I rarely wear as I think it's too short for my liking but it is actually good for summer. So, I decided to go with that. I pack some clothes and underwears and also toiletries (most important) and also extra pair of shoes just in case? Not to forget my skincare and make up that I need to add after I use them tomorrow morning.
I wake up the next day, sufficiently slept and excited for the date. I shower and brush my teeth and then wear my clothes before finishing my make up. For my hair, I decided to tie them today because it's summer and it's kinda hot not to so I just make a low bun with some strands out in front to make it look effortless. This is how my outfit looks like.
My clothes are mostly white so I decided to go different today so I chose the beige blouse with a jeans shorts. I put all of my personal belongings including sunscreen which is very essential for summer into my handbag and pack everything else. Then, I go downstairs to eat breakfast before Ryan comes.
"Morning, Mom." I kiss her cheek before taking a seat.
"Morning, honey. Excited for today?" Mom asks while putting the newly cooked omelette in the plate in front of me.
"Very. Just a little bit disappointed that you know Ryan's plan first before me." I narrow my eyes at her while crossing my arms on the table, leaning forward.
"I thought he told you first. Then, he said, 'Don't tell Abby. It's supposed to be a secret.' So, I didn't." She shrugs and smiles.
"Didn't blame you though. By the way, do we have any plan next week?" I ask while taking a bite if my omelette.
"For now, not yet. Why?"
"William asks me if we're in for a tennis battle with him and his father next week. If that's okay with you."
"We? You know I don't play." She frowns, quizzically.
"I mean, of course it's me against them. But, you must be there, right? Since Uncle George will be there...?" I ask the last part quite slower than the first one.
"Oh, yeah. Sure. I can make us food. Can't you bring Ryan though? Well, at least for a partner to have a battle against them?"
I nod at her suggestion, "Nice idea. But, I don't know if he plays tennis?"
"I thought he can play everything?" Mom says jokingly.
I just roll my eyes at her and smile.
"I'm just kidding. But, seriously. Ask him first then you'll know."
"Sure, I'll ask him later."
Ryan comes after I finish my breakfast and we decided to get on our way quickly since it will take some times to get 'there'.
I take my clothes bag and personal belongings with my handbag to get them into his car. Then, we say good bye to Mom and Ryan just promised her to make sure I am safe 24/7. As if he will let go of my hands.
I hug Mom for the last time before get into his car and wave her good bye.
"So, now can you tell me where are we going?"
"Is it okay if I say I want it to be a secret until we arrive there?"
I narrow my eyes at him but I didn't argue.
"Fine. It's better be good."
"Oh, by the way. Do you know how to play tennis?"
"I play tennis in middle school. Not for serious tournaments but just to spend times with my friends. So, I can play but not professionally. Why?"
"Well, you know that I used to play tennis, right?"
He nods.
"So, I met William and Uncle George once when I play at our town's sport centre. And they kinda like asked me to have a match with them since I used to play tennis for tournaments before I quit to focus on study."
"That's great though. At least you can still keep your skill sharp by having a battle with other people." He says while looking at the road and sometimes glances at me.
"Yes, I know. But, what if I need to have a match with both of them? And I'm alone. So, don't you think I need a partner for that?"
He chuckles and says while looking at me, "Is that how you ask me to play with you?"
"I think?"
"Cute." He shakes his head.
I wait for what he wants to say next.
"Okay, sure. I can't refuse now that it's my girlfriend who asks me, right?" He really loves to point out that I'm his girlfriend.
"Yeayy! Thank you!" I link my arm to his arm which on the armrest between us and leans to him to kiss his cheek.
He smiles at my reaction.
"Oh, wait. How long do we have more before we arrive?"
"Maybe around 2 hours?"
"Okay, great. The good news is, I made a playlist for our road trip!" I connect my phone to his car's radio and start playing the songs I chose for this road trip.
Luckily, our music taste match and he knows more of the songs that I chose.
I can't wait to see what awaits me.
