What? Is he asking me to be his girlfriend or am I delusional?
"Why? You don't want me to?" He raises his eyebrows at me.
Did I say it out loud?
"I... Umm... That's..." I stutter and I hate that. It shows how nervous I am.
"Hey guys! Let's eat!" Casey interrupts us which makes us look away.
"Y-yeah, let's go get something to eat!" I try to cover up my nervous face by talking to Casey. I stand up from my seat and go to the food table to grab something.
I hear Ryan laughs a little behind us. He must be amused at how my face flushed just now. Casey is my saviour.
"Where's Nick?" I ask her.
"He's with his school's participants probably. We talk for a while and suddenly they gather around him asking him to join them to eat so I take my cue to leave but he asks for my phone numbers!" She said excitedly.
"Really?! Did you guys exchange numbers?!" I widen my eyes because I'm excited for her too.
She nods frantically and we giggle with each other.
"Oh, to have a handsome boyfriend!" I tease her.
"He's not my boyfriend yet. It's you here who already has a 'boyfriend' if I'm not mistaken." She smirks back at me.
"What? Who? Me?"
She moves her eyebrows playfully and move her eyes to Ryan who now is on his way to us.
I think I blush a little and try to explain to her the situation but before I have the chance to, Ryan comes.
"I thought you have grabbed your food?" Ryan asks us as we are still not with any food.
"We're about to. Let's go, shall we?" Casey takes Ryan's arm and winks at me.
Ryan frowns at Casey and me but I just shrug and smile, proceeding to walk with them to the food table. Casey is so playful and friendly. I guess that's what special about her.

We are now in the hall with other people for the closing ceremony. Luckily, we get seats before the others fill up the hall. I sit in between Casey and Ryan while nervously clamping my hands together. I'm afraid for the announcement. I don't expect to win the first place because I know how clever everyone else is and it's my first experience in this kind of competition but I just hope I at least get to bring some good news back because everyone's expectation is high.
"Hey, don't be nervous. You've done your best." Casey holds my hands, trying to calm me down.
"Thanks." I smile.
I play with the hem of my dress. Looking down and patiently waiting for the MC to announce the winners.
"I like your outfit today. Looks cute." Ryan whispers at me which sends a chill to my spine.
"Suddenly?" I look at him and frown.
"I just guess that will make you feel better?" he smiles and shrugs.
"Not really, but thanks" I smile nervously.
After 5 minutes, the MC comes out and giving us his greetings. We wait patiently for the tentative of the programme to be the announce of the winners. The more time is passing by, the more nervous I am.
