~3rd Person P.O.V.~

Y/n stood in front of the class, Tillie right beside her, while Moody and Gilbert stood on the boys side, the class cheering for each of their own sides.

"Spell "amorous."" Mr. Phillips demands.

"Amorous." Tillie starts. "A-M-O-R... U-"

Mr. Phillips groans. "Wrong. Sit down." Tillie obeys. "Spell "gorgeous.""

"G-O-R-G-I-"

"Sit down, you butcher of beauty." Mr. Phillips cuts Moody off with a groan of annoyance. Moody sits down, now leaving it to be just Gilbert and Y/n. "Ostracize"?"

"O-S-T-R-A-C-I-Z-E." Gilbert spells.

"That would seem to be correct." Mr. Phillips sighs, the boys cheering. "'Haughty.'"

"H-A-U-G-H-T-Y." Y/n spells.

"'Callous.'"

"C-A-L-L-O-U-S." After Gilbert finish spelling, Y/n glances at him, meeting his eyes, causing her to quickly look away.

"'Penitent.'"

"P-E-N-I-T-E-N-T." The girls cheer for Y/n.

"'Intentions.'"

"I-N-T-E-N-T-I-O-N-S." The boys cheer for Gilbert.

"'Persevere.'" Y/n wrapped an arm around her stomach, Anne doing the same where she was sitting beside Diana.

"P-E-R-S-E-V-E-R-E."

"'Engagement.'"

"E-N-G-A-G-M..."

"That is incorrect." Mr. Phillips says and the girls cheer for Y/n while Gilbert smiles at her. "The... spelling, not the sentiment."

"Y/n, you won!" Diana exclaims with a bright smile.

Y/n lets out a breath, meeting Gilbert in the middle of the class. "Congratulations, Y/n." Gilbert smiles at her, getting a nod and tight smile in return before she walks back to her shared desk with Diana and Anne.

Anne and Y/n share a look, both not feeling the least bit okay.

"Y/n, Anne, are you two feeling alright?" Diana asks in concern, resting her hand on Y/n's shoulder, who sat in-between them.

Both girls shake their head.

During the night, Anne and Y/n were laying in their beds, sound asleep until Anne gasps, eyes opening wide. She looks under her covers, green eyes widening even more upon seeing what was under there.

"Y/n!" Anne whisper-yells.

Upon hearing the loud panting and her sister's voice, Y/n wakes up, then feeling the same thing as Anne. Glancing to the red head, Y/n lifts up her covers, letting out a big gasp as well. Both girls exchange a look before getting to their feet, then grabbing their stained sheets.

The sisters walk down the steps as quiet as they could, not wanting to wake Matthew and Marilla up before grabbing a bucket. Y/n places the bucket in the sink before her and Anne heat up some water from another bucket, dumping it into the first bucket before placing both their sheets inside, trying to clean them as much as they could, sniffles leaving them.

"Y/n? Anne?" Marilla calls as she walks down the stairs.

"We're sorry! We're so sorry we disturbed you. We're so very sorry you bet on the wrong horse." Anne chokes out, the two continuing to scrub their sheets.
