Anne and Y/n Shirley were sisters. Twins to be in fact. Y/n was a lot different than Anne. For starters, they didn't look like twins at all. And while Anne was the cheery, hyper, and talkative kind of sister, Y/n was the complete opposite. She was q...

It was bright out, a carriage with two horses, one of the front and one on the back, being seen in front of the Cuthbert residence with three pre-teen kids sitting inside, the e/c eyed girl being in the middle of her sister and the boy she called her best friend. The snow could be seen everywhere, sparkling in the eyes and somewhat blending in with the occasional clouds that could be seen in the sky every few minutes or so. Marilla could be seen standing off the side as she watched the carriage with the twins and Jerry head off, Diana standing beside her. The Barry girl had rushed to her best friends house, giving them something that didn't really mean much to her so they could sell it. She had been worried so much after learning what was happening to the Cuthberts and she wanted to help in any way she could. As they had been getting the horses and the carriage ready, Anne had rambled about her displeasure of Jerry joining her and Y/n right in front of his face, not evening seeming to care how he felt as she claimed they didn't need his help. However, the boy hadn't seem to care as they were soon off to the village, Anne demanding for silence that the French boy had only begun singing in French just to annoy her.
Y/n sat in-between them as she listened to Anne try and get Jerry to stop, only making the boy sing more as he ignored her words of annoyance. As he sang, Y/n found herself bobbing her head a bit, finding the song catchy as she didn't know Anne's eyes widened when she saw what her sister was doing. It wasn't long until they were parking the carriage in the village, both agreeing to go to different shops to sell the things. Y/n found herself entering the dress shop her and Anne had been looking at the day before, a box in her hand that held hers and Anne's dresses that Matthew had gotten them, both folded up neatly. As she stepped inside, the bell ringing throughout the now empty shop since it was a bit early in the morning, her e/c eyes couldn't help but admire the dresses all around, wishing her dresses were similar to those.
"Hello there." A voice greets, making her turn around to see a woman, who she could only guess was the owner of the shop, standing there behind the counter. "I see you've been here before."
Y/n shakes her head with a slight smile. "Unfortunately, no. I haven't."
"Well, how may I help you today?" The woman asks with a small smile, watching as the girl makes her way to the counter and places the box down.
"I am here to return two dresses." Y/n informs.
The woman furrows her brows in worry that she had messed up with the dresses. "Is something wrong with them?"
"Not a thing." Y/n assures with a shake of her head.
"Do you not like them?" The woman questions.
"No, I love mine! Really, I do. And my sister definitely loves hers, it's just... I need to return it to help our family." Y/n informs as she woman opens the box, revealing the two dresses.
The woman's eyes widen a bit. "You're one of the twins. Matthew's twins."
