~3rd Person P.O.V.~

Anne and Y/n walked home hand in hand through the snow. On the way, Anne had started ranting, being somewhat snappy, all while Y/n just listened to her twin sister go on and on. Eventually, the sisters walk inside their home, Marilla sitting in the other room, sewing. The woman glances over her shoulder upon hearing them, seeing the girls taking off their coats and hats.

"Afternoon, girls." Marilla greets.

"Afternoon, Marilla." Y/n greets back quietly.

"Yes, we're aware that it's the afternoon." Anne firmly replies.

Marilla glances at her, slightly wide eyes. "I beg your pardon?"

"Why doesn't anyone ever say what they mean? How about, "Hello. Are you still having the world's lousiest day? Why, yes, thank you, I am"!" Anne, once again, rambles.

"I'll thank you to mind your manners." Marilla reminds.

"What does that even mean?" Anne questions loudly as they hang up their coats.

Marilla sighs. "Did you two have a chance to talk things over with Diana?"

"Well, we talk to Diana every day, so obviously we did!" Anne replies loudly before Y/n could.

Letting out a groan, the red head stomps upstairs as Y/n stands there awkwardly before finding herself going upstairs as well, the only thing wanting to do was read a book.

The next morning, Y/n and Anne sat side by side at the table. The red head held her head in her hand as both their hair was a mess and were still in their pajamas. As Anne didn't bother eating her breakfast, Y/n ate it at a slow pace, not wanting her stomach to hurt more than it already did.

"At least finish your milk, Anne." Marilla speaks up as her and Matthew glance between the two.

"Nothing appeals to me, Marilla." Anne croaks out. "I don't feel very well."

"Me, too." Y/n adds, stopping herself from eating as she rubs her stomach, resting her head on Anne's shoulder. "Since it's Saturday, would it be alright if we go back to bed for a little while?"

"Yes, that's fine. I'll be leaving for Rachel's soon." Marilla informs.

"Growing up is certainly a trial by fire." Anne comments.

"Well, since you two are indeed growing up..." Marilla begins, trailing off as she grabs their plates. "...if you two would like to invite Diana for tea today, you may."

Anne's eyes widen. "Tea? With Diana as our guest?"

Marilla nods. "Only if you and Y/n are up to it."

"Oh, Marilla, you are able to imagine things after all!" Anne exclaims, a smile growing on her face. "Or else you'd never have understood how I've longed for this very thing. A grown-up tea is one of my highest ideals of earthly bliss! Oh. But Y/n and I have nothing to wear!"

"Oh, you girls both have two perfectly good dresses." Marilla reminds.

"But they won't do for tea without puff sleeves! Matthew, tell her!" Anne argues, looking to the said man.

"They've been dreaming of those since the day we met. At least, I think Y/n does." Matthew replies, glancing at the said girl, who nods, giving him a smile.

"And since well before. Could you add puff sleeves to one of each of our dresses?" Anne asks, looking back at Marilla.

"I've never heard such foolishness." Marilla comments.
