~3rd Person P.O.V.~
The night had passed and the sisters found themselves at school together, taking a seat at their desk with Diana, who already sat there. The three girls haven't forgotten about what happened the day before. They were still deeply upset about it and wished they could turn back time to do something different.
Just as the Shirley-Cuthbert sisters sit down at their desk, Y/n being in-between Diana and Anne, Mr. Phillips walks over to them, placing two boxes full of Anne and Y/n's stuff in front of them as he narrows his eyes on the girls.
"You both are not to fraternize, or exert undue influence. Ruby, switch places with Anne and Y/n." Mr. Phillips orders, causing a few people to gasp.
The three best friends look to each other with wide eyes, not expecting Diana's mother to take it this far as for them to not see one another at school. Diana grabs their hands, watching as they stand up, taking their new seats beside Josie, now behind Diana as Ruby replaces their seats.
Her lip trembling, trying not to cry, Diana glances over her shoulder, the three girls meeting eyes. Gulping, the Barry girl turns back forward, trying to hold the tears back.

After class, Anne had grabbed Y/n and Diana's hands, pulling them into a different room, away from where Mr. Phillips and everyone else could see them. Once inside, the three girls seat themselves down, holding each others hands.
"Will your mother never relent?" Anne asks.
"I've cried and cried, and told her over and over again that it wasn't either of your faults. It isn't any use." Diana informs, shaking her head.
"So this is an eternal farewell." Y/n whispers, Diana nodding in response, tears pooling in all their eyes.
"Then we must speak the most pathetic language that we can think of." Anne states quickly.
"With "thees" and "thous"?" Diana questions.
Anne sighs a little. "That way neither one of us will forget the pathos of this moment."
Simultaneously, the three girls hold up their hands, connecting their pinkies together as they glanced between one another.
"Diana... wilt thou promise faithfully... never to forget me and Y/n, the friends of your youth?" Anne asks.
"I'll never have any other bosom friends. I don't want to. I could never love anyone as I love you two. Thou." Diana replies.
"Wait. You love us?" Y/n questions in a whisper, both the sisters eyes widening.
"Of course I do. Why don't either of you know that?" Diana asks back.
Anne smiles, glancing at her sister. "Well, we thought you liked us, of course, but we never hoped you loved us."
"I love you both devotedly." Diana tells them, taking their hands.
"Then we will always love thee, Diana." Y/n replies.
"In the years to come, your memory will shine like a star over mine and Y/n's lonely lives." Anne adds, all of them letting out small cries. "Let us offer each other locks of our hair... to treasure evermore."
Diana and Y/n watch as she pulls out a pair of scissors, cutting a piece of her red locks, then a piece of Diana's brown ones, and then a piece of Y/n's h/c locks. Letting in a shaky breath, she grabs their hands, holding the hair in her palm.
"I bestow upon thou this symbol of my enduring love." Anne states.
"Fare thee well, dearest Anne and Y/n of Green Gables. Henceforth, we must be strangers living side by side." Diana slowly recalls.
