"What the hell are you two doing on my porch?" I asked.
Two weeks later, I am at home for the evening. I happened to notice a shadow on my porch. My first thought was that it was Carlos. It wasn't. Nope. Instead, it is Johnny and Zack trying to creep off of my porch quietly.
Both of them froze and slowly turned to smile at me nervously. I narrowed my eyes at them.
"Um, we, uh, thought we would be nice and bring gifts?" Johnny asked me.
"Say what?" I asked him.
"Well, we kinda felt bad about your shoes ending up in my pool, and Johnny kinda ripped your shirt that one night. Thought we would replace them." Zack chuckled.
"Both were my fault. Why are you fixing my fuck ups?" I laughed.
"Technically, Jimmy tossed your shoes in the pool. And I have no real explanation for why I wanted to wear a women's shirt." Johnny laughed.
I giggled at them. As annoying as I find them sometimes, they do have really big hearts. At least these two do.
I haven't seen Brian much since he went to my mom's house that one day. I find it odd, since we live next door to one another. Why do I care that I haven't seen him?
Pushing the thought away, I accepted the bag that Zack handed me. I was rather surprised that he got me a pair of Jimmy Choos like I originally had. Johnny did replace my button up shirt with one almost identical to the last one.
"Thanks you guys. You really didn't need to do that." I smiled.
"No problem. We kinda fucked up your weekend." Johnny grinned.
"You met my entire family. They accept everyone. You didn't mess anything up." I grinned.
"Um, I know this is an odd question, but have you seen Brian recently?" Zack asked me.
"No, I haven't. I figured he was with you guys." I told him.
His best friends haven't heard from him? What the hell is that about? I had to wonder if Brian does this often.
"Huh. No, he claims he's busy lately." Johnny muttered.
"If I see him, I can tell him to call you guys." I said.
"Yeah, that would be good. He hasn't done this in a while. We normally hear from him every few days or so." Zack frowned.
"He does this often?" I asked.
"Once every three or four months. But, he usually says something is all." Johnny shrugged.
"I'm sure he will turn up." I assured them.
After saying our goodbyes, I went back to reading my book in the quiet of my own house. I love nights like these. The silence and solitude. It's wonderful.
A few hours later, I heard loud yelling outside.
So much for quiet.
The yelling grew louder and louder. It was coming from Brian's backyard. I peaked out the window and spotted the girl I assumed to be Christy screaming at Brian. I'm talking she is in his face, raging at him.
"Christy! No! I'm not doing it again. I told you this was it!" Brian yelled.
"Fuck you, Brian! Fuck you! You're so fucking selfish! I hate you!" She screamed.
Before Brian could respond, Christy punched him in the mouth. Fuck, that bitch is crazy! Brian staggered back a few steps, holding his jaw. I held my breath in fear of his reaction to her.
