studying in Los Angeles can be the opportunity of a lifetime: new city, meeting new people and have a lot of fun, but it's not all fun and games: will anna manage to live a "double life" between Milan and Los Angeles?
"remember this is important, i recommend you all to study this, because it's gonna be a topic for the next quiz." the professor said and finally the lesson was over.
as soon as i got home last night i fell asleep on my bed without even getting undressed. i was too tired.
in fact, i regretted it this morning when i was about to be late and lose the opportunity to have a ride by vinnie.
speaking of him, after last night we didn't talk much, mostly because as i said i was late.
"how are you feeling today? i would have stayed at home, but my mom literally forced me to come here." charli said coming up next to me and then we both got out of the class.
"yeah i would have done the same, actually if i asked vinnie's mom to stay home, she would have said yes, but since i knew vinnie was coming here, i thought i would too." i said.
fortunately now it was lunch time, so we could have rested a little before having the last two periods.
me and charli arrived at the cafeteria and it was our lucky day since addison and avani got lunch for both of us. thank god. i loved them. we took a seat next to them and we started eating our lunch.
"so anna, what do you think about last night? you had fun?" avani asked laughing. i was a little confused by it because there was nothing to laugh about.
"she means, did you like the party? since, you know, it was your first party here.." charli tried to make it up, while i noticed that addison touched avani's arm with her elbow, like she just said something she wasn't supposed to.
"uh, yeah it was great and as you said, i met new people, but i think it's too soon to call them 'friends'" i said looking at charli, remembering what she said few days ago when she was telling me about the party.
"oh c'mon, of course they are your friends now, we all are. and the best part of it is that they're gonna threw more parties!" she said slightly squealing. "aren't you excited?"
"uh yeah?" i chuckled. it didn't seem at first, but charli was definitely a party lover. i liked attending parties too, of course, but i had to know the people that were there, so i still had to get used to it here. fortunately i had charli and the others now.
we kept talking about last night and eating our lunch when i heard someone coming next to us: "what's up losers!"
bryce. of course it was him.
i instantly looked at addison, who was sitting in front of me, but she seemed unbothered by bryce. i didn't think that something changed overnight, but she was probably just ignoring him.
"hi bryce." addison said one second later. well i didn't expect that. that meant that something did change overnight, but i was happy that she wasn't feeling as bad as she was before the party. i chuckled and i looked at charli because she did the same.
"yo have you seen bryant's post? it's lit, we're actually some good looking people, we have to admit it." ryland said joining us. then i remembered i didn't get to see the pics.
"actually no, can you show me?" i asked before taking another bite of my lunch.
ryland nodded and he took his phone, he scrolled a little and then he showed my the pics.
since ryland loved hyping himself and being an idiot, i didn't actually believe him when he said we were looking good, but he was telling the truth.
"oh gosh, i'm gonna ask bryant to send me all the pics, i wanna post some of them, can i?" i kinda asked for their permission because they appeared in some pics with me.
"yea duh why are you asking us?" bryce said laughing. yeah that was kinda stupid of me but it just felt right.
we kept taking about last night and laughing, when a noise came from vinnie's seat. he joined us after ryland did.
"dude what's up?" mattia asked.
yeah vinnie what's up? you're getting crazy or something?
vinnie just sighed and rolled his eyes. i was looking at him better and i realised his phone was facing down the table and he made that noise by hitting it on the table.
"nothing, just the same shit." vinnie said looking around himself, as if he was looking for someone, probably emily.
i tried to get her out of my mind, but the image of her kissing vinnie kept coming up in my mind.
"tiktokroom?" charli said and got vinnie to finally look at us, but he was specially focusing on me. i was confused, why was he looking at me? and what was tiktokroom?
vinnie nodded shutting his eyes causing the others to say an 'ooohh' all together. okay now i was even more confused that i already was.
"what are you guys talking about?" i finally asked, but nobody said anything. they were just looking at each other, specially at vinnie, like they were asking him for permission.
"uhm hello?" i said again to steal their attention. i saw charli looking impatiently at vinnie and when he said 'whatever' she took a deep breath and started talking.
"okay you know we're all on tiktok." i nodded. "so, there's this instagram page that posts about us, our private life, our public life and more. it's basically a tea page."
oh, so it was like a gossip thing? that was it? i thought it was something more important. "so, what's the big deal?"
"you're on that page." charli said.
i what? what the hell did it mean?
"and you're just telling me like this? someone let me see this."
as soon as i spoke, charli took her phone and showed me a pic: it was me and vinnie last night laughing and pretty close to each other. it was the pic that bryant took of us.

i wasn't even bothered by vinnie's followers comment, but by emily's.
first of all, i did nothing to her ot to make her think i want vinnie, since i was dating daniele, so her behaviour was unnecessary.
second of all, vinnie didn't start the kiss, she did, but of course she wanted attention.
then i finally understood the comments under my post and tiktok: it was emily followers that, of course, supported her and her relationship with vinnie or whatever was going on between them.
i just didn't understand why neither vinnie nor charli told me before when i asked them; or even emily could have told me when she came at my place.
