as i was sleeping so peacefully in my bed, i couldn't ignore the feeling that someone was keeping moving next to me.

wait? who was in the bed with me?

i turned around and i saw vinnie. and we weren't even in my bed. my mind glitched for a second, but then i remembered we both fell asleep on the couch after talking last night.

i slightly smiled after watching vinnie sleeping. he looked so cute and he seemed an angel. his blonde curls were a bit messy and they covered his forehead.

his light skin looked so soft and i couldn't stop the impulse to caress his face and that's what i did. maybe i shouldn't have.

the second later vinnie slightly opened his eyes and it took him few seconds to realise what was happening.

we both found each other sleeping together and it had never happened, so it was kinda weird. but i have to admit it, sleeping next to vinnie was pretty comfortable.

"hi, good morning." he said yawning and since i was looking at him, i yawned as well.

i greeted him and now we were both sitting on the couch. and now? not gonna lie, it was a little awkward, so i finally stood up and i stretched my back.

"c'mon you can't say you slept badly next to me, everyone says otherwise." here we go again. vinnie started to make jokes. actually i expected him to start as soon as he saw me next to him.

"then i'm sorry to say that, but they all might have been lying." i said chuckling.

"finally you guys woke up!" we both turned around and i saw maria coming downstairs.

"good morning, mrs hacker!" i said and the second later i realised she didn't want me to call her like that. "i meant, maria."

she simply smiled at me as if she wanted to reassure me. it had been a month since i first got here, but still i forgot to simply call her maria. same was happening with nate.

"are you gonna eat something? we have 10 minutes before leaving for school, so.." i heard vinnie speaking.

i looked at my phone screen and it was 7.32 a.m. right we didn't have much time, so i had to hurry up.

i grabbed two little waffles and without even warming them up i ate them with a glass of juice, i barely looked at the casing so i didn't know the flavour but it tasted quite good.

as soon as i finished having breakfast, i saw vinnie grabbing his keys and i supposed we were about to leave, but maria began to speak, so we turned around to listen to her.

"wait, before you guys leave for school." she said as she was looking for something on her phone. "i forgot to show you, but i guess you would have seen it later."

maria was giggling and as much as i loved her, i found it a little weird, because it looked like she was about to show us something she was proud of.

she turned her phone into our direction and when i saw that pic i couldn't believe it. i immediately looked at vinnie and he didn't seem very happy about it either.

why the heck would maria have taken a picture of me and vinnie sleeping on the couch and posted it on her instagram stories?

"mom what the heck, delete it immediately." vinnie said sighing.

as much as we both agreed on the fact that we wanted to ignore other people and what they were thinking, that photo of us could have led people to make weird ideas.

"why? i thought it was a good idea to post it and look how cute you two look." maria said zooming the pic on our faces to convince vinnie to keep it.

"mom i said delete it, please. you're gonna do us a big favour." vinnie said and that's when maria looked at me.

"anna you're not okay with this either?" she said and as much as she looked so excited for that pic, i shook my head.

if a lot of people would see it, they would start making up rumours and i'm not really in the mood for being in the spotlight.

"i'm really sorry guys, i should have asked first, but i'm gonna keep it anyway in my camera roll." maria chuckled. fortunately she didn't take it badly.

it was getting pretty late, so vinnie and i greeted her and got out of the house. vinnie quickly started the car and since he was accelerating more and more i was pretty sure we would have arrived at school in time.

the first few minutes we stayed silent and it was pretty awkward. vinnie and i were always used to make jokes, but still there were moments like that.

fortunately he interrupted it by saying: "look, anna. i'm sorry for what my mom did. she didn't mean it in a bad way, she's just.."

vinnie stopped talking and i turned towards him. he was looking straight at the road and it seemed he wanted to talk, but didn't know how.

"vinnie, i swear, i'm not mad or something at your mom. she's literally the sweetest person i've ever met and she thought it was a cute idea. no problem." i said trying to reassure him.

"yeah but, my mom.. uhm." he started speaking, but he stopped because he noticed we had to stop at the red light. great. for sure we were gonna be late for school.

"as you may have noticed, my mom really likes you. she's the type of person that likes everyone, but you're special for her." vinnie slightly chuckled for what he just said.

"yeah i immediately noticed she was a kind person, but why am i special for her? i mean.." not gonna lie i was blushing. it was so cute of her.

it took some seconds for vinnie to answer because we could finally start driving again and then he said: "because you're a good person and she noticed the way you act with me. you care about me, whenever you don't see me, you're worried and she likes it."

okay now i was blushing even more!

i'm that type of person, i care about everyone, but i didn't want maria to think i have feelings for vinnie. i mean, i care about him because we're friends, but i also have a boyfriend and i didn't want her to have false hopes.

"oh my god, but why? i mean, i'm happy that she likes me, but.." not gonna lie i was panicking a little.

"because of emily. let's say i haven't had the best time of my life after she broke up with me."

emily. again. if someone had said her name one more time, i would freak out.

i looked at vinnie and i didn't say anything because i didn't know how and what to say. i felt so bad for him and he didn't deserve any of this.

"now that everyone noticed it, you can admit you're so in love with me!" vinnie said playing it down. thank god.

"oh yeah, vinnie for sure. i've been in love with you since the first time we met and i'm literally obsessing over you!" i said chuckling.

then i looked at the time on my phone and we should have definitely gotten out of the car and get to class. i didn't want any more problems that i already had.
