vinnie and i were walking through the hallway as we were two zombies. i felt like i hadn't slept in years and i wasn't really feeling like being here at school.

i would have stayed home if we hadn't to do our presentation for science class. i felt pretty nervous about it actually, because i was supposed to talk in front of many people and i didn't really like it.

"there you are, i haven't heard of you yesterday!" i heard charli surprising me from behind. "everything okay?"

"hi charli. uh yeah, i was just busy with the presentation thing and as soon as we ended it i fell asleep on the couch." i omitted the 'we' and talked in first person, otherwise charli would have made weird ideas.

as soon as i said those words, my eyes got  on vinnie who was holding his giggle. yeah very funny vincent.

"right i forgot. how did it go? did vinnie help?" now she was looking at vinnie and when i
nodded she made a surprised face.

"what the heck! really? nah you're lying anna." she literally couldn't believe me.

"i'm serious, i swear to god." i giggled. "in fact, he was very tired as well and we both-"

i stopped talking because i realised i was about to expose us. i looked at charli and i hoped she didn't hear what i said and in fact she was looking at someone in front of her.

"why is she coming here?" she said shocked.

i turned into that direction and i saw emily walking towards our way. for sure she didn't want to talk to me nor charli. she was coming here for vinnie.

i gave a quick look at vinnie and he seemed pretty cool about it. i didn't really know what happened to him, but after having those big talks with me, he didn't seem to be bother by emily anymore.

"hi vinnie."

excuse miss girl, there are two more people next to him.

"oh hi girls, didn't see you there." emily faked a smile.

charli and i did the same. then she turned to look at vinnie and said: "did you guys have fun with the presentation yesterday?"

"why don't you mind your business emily?" vinnie said looking away.

"because it is. i'm a friend of yours and anna's as well, so i care about what you guys do. that's how friendship works." she said and the more she was talking the more it was getting on my nerves.

"oh my god, at this point it's clear that you don't know what a real friendship is emily! you're obsessed. just go to class and do something useful." charli said sticking up for us.

"huh?! i'm sorry, but the only person that doesn't know how even a relationship works is right in front of me." emily was referring to vinnie.

i was literally there shocked because vinnie kinda told me what happened between them and she actually was in the wrong.

"says you! emily, i don't know you very well and i tried to be your friend, but it's like you have had it with me since the first day we met and personally i think that the one who doesn't know how a relationship works is you." i said sticking up for vinnie.

that was the least i could do for him.

"now you defend him? not to sound rude, but all the hate you got was because of vinnie and the stupid little girls who are in love with him." emily said looking at me. "and for the record, they loved us better."

chill emily, im not trying to steal 'your' man. as charli said, she seemed pretty obsessed with vinnie and i couldn't understand why since she cheated on him and broke up with him.

i looked at vinnie and i understood that he didn't want to talk with emily anymore, so i stayed silent and decided to ignore what she just said.

emily noticed we didn't want to be bother by her anymore, so she simply walked past us and i thanked god. the day had just started and in the worst way possible.

i supposed she was walking to get to class, when i heard something dropping on the floor. we turned around and i saw emily picking up her backpack. ugh i wonder how it happened.

as we heard the noise, some students did as well, in fact they were looking at her. and emily seemed pretty happy about it as if it was what she wanted.

"sorry, it's just too heavy." she said faking a smile.

i just rolled my eyes because it was literally ridiculous at this point and now i couldn't wait to go to class. i thought i would never say that.

"oh guys, i forgot." no way emily was still speaking up. "anna, how does it feel like to sleep with vinnie, huh?"

i immediately looked at vinnie shocked. he looked at me as well and his look wasn't reassuring and calm anymore. also he clenched his jaw and at this point it was clear vinnie was annoyed by emily.

i wanted to talk back, but i had so many confused thoughts in my mind so i stayed silent.

i gave a look at charli and she had a confused face. right, the way emily told it, it seemed like something happened between me and vinnie this night.

i slightly shook my head and i would have told her what really happened later. then all of a sudden i felt someone's hand touching my arm and i realised it was vinnie.

"c'mon let's go, i'll take care of her." he said encouraging both me and charli to walk away and that's what we exactly did.

i repeated to myself multiple times that i didn't want to be in the spotlight, but here i was. now everyone who heard emily was convinced that vinnie and i slept together. great.
