"so did they really say yes?" charli came next to me waiting impatiently for an answer. last night i texted her telling her that nate and maria agreed with letting me go to the party. i nodded and the second later charli hugged me thightly.

i hugged her back and said: "charli i love you too, but i can't breath." i chuckled.

"fine, i'm just so excited. you have to see the dresses addison and i bought yesterday. they're fabulous!" she stopped for a second. "why don't you come at my place after school? there will be addison and avani too, we're going to the party together."

"yeah sure, i just have to decide what to wear and i'll-" charli didn't let me finish, because she said: "oh right, do you have some cute dresses here? wait, you could wear one of mines."

i swear, charli was so excited for tonight that she couldn't stop talking. "if it's fine to you, just tell me what time i can come." i said while we were going out of the class.

"you can come as soon as the classes are done, i can give you a ride." i nodded. "addison and avani are coming later, in the meantime we'll decide what you wanna wear."

i smiled and i thanked her. she was being so cute and kind with me, despite we only met few days ago.

we were walking through the hallway, i saw a familiar face. it was emily. she had been so kind for helping me with the tutoring thing, but it gave me weird vibes when she said those things about vinnie.

i noticed that she was looking at me, so i said: "hi emily." just to be polite. i was new here and i didn't want to seem rude or have any bad rumor around.

she said 'hi' back and as soon as we were past her, charli said: "so yesterday she came to your place? was vinnie there too?"

"yeah, and no, actually they met right before emily would go away. it was kinda awkward, they kept looking at each other without saying anything," i said while we were going out of the school.

"oh okay, well.." she stopped talking for a second. "that's my car, come on in. i'm so excited for tonight!" she continued changing topic. i didn't really mind it and now i wanted to focus on spending some time with the girls.

we were almost arrived at charli's house, when i got a text:

where are you? i'm waiting for you outside of your class.

not gonna lie, a little smile took place on my face. it was cute of him, it felt like he was caring about me, or maybe he was just being polite since i was living with him.

i'm going at charli's. she's giving me a ride. i forgot to tell you, sorryyy <3

"here we are. c'mon can't wait to show you my dress!" i smiled and we quickly went inside. her house was very spacious and only when i got inside i saw through the big window a pool in the backyard.

"we could go for a swim one of these times if you want to." charli noticed i was looking at the pool. "but now let's go to my room."

we went upstairs and arrived at her room and charli quickly started showing me many dresses of her that i could use later that night.

"oh my god, charli i appreciate what you're doing, but just one dress is enough, trust me." i giggled. she turned around and gave me a death stare. "what?" i asked confused.

"you're new here and there's a cool party tonight. you have to be fabulous, so that you can meet as many people as possible. it's gonna be easier to stay here if you know more people." she said and she wasn't totally wrong. i wanted to make friends, but i didn't love being in the spotlight.

"i know, but you, addison, avani are enough." i said while i was taking a look at those dresses. "there's also mattia, he isn't bad at all."

"yeah i know we're amazing people, but some more friends won't hurt you." she said giggling. "and don't forget vinnie, he sould be the first on your friends list since he's been so nice hosting you."

"of course i'm grateful for him and his family, but i have the feeling that he's nice to me just because he has to. also lately he seemes like he's annoyed by me, we don't talk as much as we did before."

"yeah you know boys, just don't think about it, he will come around." she reassured me. "now, what do you think about the dresses? there's one that you like?"

i took another look at the dresses and a short pink dress got my attention. it had also had some silver details which gave it some brightness. "i suppose this one, what do you think?" i asked charli for an opinion.

"that will look so good on you, it's perfect" she said with enthusiasm. "i'm pretty sure the boys are gonna ask for your number after tonight." she giggled.

"oh yeah yeah for sure, i mean, have you looked at me?" i was being ironic. "what time do addison and avani come here?"

"i suppose in less than an hour. they always come here two hours before the party begins and we end up being late." she giggled.

i chuckled then i said: "in the meantime we could start doing our makeup or something."

"why don't we do a tiktok? you have to post it on your profile, remember last time?" right, the time when me, charli, mattia and vinnie went to the skatepark.

i tried to suggest some other things to do, but charli was so convincing that i gave up and we did a tiktok and surprisly it turned out pretty good.

i was a little nervous, but filming it was funny. "i love how it turned out." charli came next to me to see it. i started digiting random stuff, but there was something that kept me from posting it. "why does it take you so long?"

"i don't know, what if they won't like it?" i looked at charli hoping she would change her mind.

but instead, she looked at me and said: "last time i posted you, you were happy that some people complimented you in the comments and now you're nevous?"

"yeah i know, but what if they changed their mind about me? i don't wanna read hateful things on me." i said sounding a little desperate, even though that wasn't my intention.

"is that what you think, or you don't wanna post it because vinnie didn't agree with this?" she said and for sure i didn't want vinnie to control my life.

charli noticed my expression changed and said: "just post it and don't care about what people say."

i smiled and she was right, so i clicked on the 'post' button and after few seconds it was posted. i just hoped i wouldn't have regretted this.
