Derek let me visit the bau. But I had things I had to figure out. I walk into the tiny computer office on the side. " hi, victor."

"oh, hey Jessie. What do you need?" he pushes up his glasses and ushers me to come in.

" I need you to run a name for me."

"Shoot!" he readies his fingers to start typing.

" Alexis Neui." he starts typing; I couldn't go to Penelope because this would be considered police business. His face turns sour. " what's wrong?"

" Alexis Neui is deceased." yea, I know that.

" can you please give me her file? Like everything you have on here?" he nods and gets the printer going.

" Should I also send these files to Garcia?"

", no, no...I'll tell her myself." I grab the case file and walk into dereks old office. I hear footsteps coming, and I quickly put the files back into my backpack. It was Penelope.

I smile and pretend I'm doing something else.
" I have some good news!!" she pokes my stomach, trying to get me riled up for something.

" what?" I say, trying to sound happy, but honestly, I didn't care.

" your mom's back!" my face shifts, not in a good way. I had a bad feeling in my stomach. " oh- your not happy?" she inquired, her face also turns into a frown.

" where is she?"

" she's currently working a joint case with us. She's with the team in New York." she didn't even call. She finally comes back from being undercover, and she doesn't even care to give me a call. her own daughter. " are you ok?"

I nod and excuse myself. She's the mother, and I'm the daughter. she should've stayed in Europe if she couldn't play the role right. I wipe the tears trickling down my face.

I was texting James to come and pick me up; I can't spend another minute here. It felt like the walls were closing in.

" Thanks, Garcia!" tara passes the phone back to Emily.

" How is she?"

" well, she just found out her mom's back in the u.s and didn't bother to tell her, so you can imagine how she is."

" how am I suppose to tell her?"

James had picked me up; he was talking on the phone with his parents. It seemed like a heartfelt conversation. He didn't need to be bothered with what I was going through.

I open my backpack and take out the file.

Alexis Neui

Age: 31
Children: One

I was looking through everything written in the file; it wasn't much. but I needed to know how she knew me. " ok, bye, mom!"

" Is everything ok?" I say, closing the file.

" yea, my moms in Peru right now for a missionary trip; I guess she just wanted to see how I was doing." that was nice.  " how's everything with your mom?"

" she's back."

" oh, have you seen her yet?" I shake my head, don't think about it. But tears already started erupting from my eyes. James looked surprised; he parks the car and leans in to comfort me.

" it's like her job is more important than me, I was shot, and I almost died! But, she comes back and goes straight back into the field. I got it before; cause she was undercover but now..."
