Hotch told me to go through files to figure out where they might've taken her.I was in dereks office going through papers with Rossi.

" she's going to be, ok," Rossi adds; I hope so. I was reading one of their tactics of breaking them; it was rape.

Jj can't get raped; I can't let her get raped. She doesn't deserve that. I heard the familiar sound of heels.

Emily.

I was contemplating on going to say hi. Just stay and look through the files. I could feel Rossi's eyes on me. Just focus on the papers.

I see some of the team at the round table; it was hotch, Derek, and my replacement Alex. I introduce myself to her, and then I hear Garcia from the hallway, following spencer.

She greets me with a hug and then turns clicks the screen to show an African- American woman.

" This is Alexis heui, I was trying to find anybody that had ties to jjs kidnappers, and she stood out, sir." Hotch gives her the go ahead.

" she was Askari's ex-girlfriend, I semi-legally found out why she's in America, turns out she was pregnant with his baby and shortly after she gave birth she was put into witness protection; sending her off to America."

" why was she put into witness protection?"

" I don't know, but the thing is that she's lives in Washington, D.C., but there is no file of her daughter."

" what are you saying?" spencer adds.

"I don't know, but she might know some stuff." we all look at Hotch. Waiting for his direction.

" Spencer, Derek, and Alex go to Alexis' house and find out anything you can about Askari and his companions." they nod and head out.

" what can I do, sir?" I say I couldn't see Jessie anywhere. She probably didn't know I was here.

" finish up, Spencer's geological profile." I nod and make my way to the board, narrowing down JJ's area.

I show Rossi a piece of paper that shows an old manufacturing business that used to be own by one of JJ's coworkers in the military.

" This could be where they are!" Rossi grabs the file and walks out of the room.

I walk into the round table room, where I could see Emily fiddling with the board. I knock on the side of the door, and she turns around.

I don't know why I didn't want to see her. I should be happy to see her, but I don't know.

" you look so much better." she stands there, just admiring me.

" you don't look bad yourself," I say, walking up to her hugging her.

we knock on the door, and a lady opens immediately.
she looks around her early to mid-thirties.

" yes?" I show my FBI badge, and she allows us in,

"you're here about Askari, no?" her accent was still thick, even though sees been here sixteen years.

" yes, we are. We are just wondering if you know any information about him." her body began to tense up. I think each of us noticed it.

" Take your time," Alex says; she knows we don't have time, but she had to reassure her. she gets up and goes into the kitchen and pours glasses of water into cups. Probably to ease her anxiety. She comes back and passes a cup to each of us. We all share a thank you.

" aksari and I loved each other when we were younger. He was stationed in Sudan, my home country, I was 15, and he was 22. we fell in love immediately." she looks at me and then gets up again and brings an album back to the table. We look at each other, knowing that we don't have time for this.

"you're going to want to listen," she says, looking at us directly in the eyes like she was reading our minds. " eventually, I got pregnant; we were so excited for our baby girl. I gave birth a while after. we decided not to name her until a year later."

" because that's the Pakistani tradition." Reid finishes; she nods and continues. She was rubbing a necklace on her neck.

" Suddenly, he started to act angry; outburst and so so much anger, one day I followed him to base and i-i saw him raping a woman. Sh-she was almost the same age as me. when I saw that, I decided this wasn't a safe place, and he wasn't a safe person for my daughter."

She pulls out a photo from the album and puts it on the table; it was a baby girl.

" an advocacy group came, to help with the war and take refugees to America. I went along without telling him. They spread us out. They placed my child and me in colorado. But I knew as long as we were together, she wasn't safe. so I put her in a church hoping someone would find her and give her a good home."

I and spencer look at each other. This story sounded familiar.

" she was in a foster home till she was three until a nice police officer adopted her." she looks at me and spencer; Alex was confused. She takes out another photo from the album and places it on the table. It was Jessie, we all look at each other;

" everywhere she went, I followed; from Denver to new york." she pulls out another picture of Jessie as a toddler. It was taken from a distance, but it was definitely her. " to Washington, D.C," she pulls out another photo more recent. It was Jessie and me outside playing basketball.

"I know, I couldn't interact with her, but I made sure she was always with the right people." she takes out numerous photos of the team. my house, her school, and the bau.

I could see teardrops falling onto the table,

" that's all I know; I spent my life watching my daughter. I have nothing to do with aksari anymore." she wipes the tears out of her eyes.

We were all speechless. She looked at each of us with her bloodshot eyes. she takes my hand; I don't pull away.

" Tell me, how is she?" I look at spencer; she has the right to know how her daughter is.

"she's great and happy." I pull out my phone and play a video of her playing with Sergio at Garcia's house. I could feel her teardrops landing on my hands.

" oh, my little firefly." she sniffles and pushes the phone back at me. " I know she's safe with you guys." we all nod. she mouthes the words thank you and walks into the bathroom. Probably to freshen herself up.

We all exhale, and then we hear a loud bang; it was a gunshot. We all take out our weapons and walk towards the bathroom.

" Ms. Heui!!" I kick open the door to see her on the floor, blood and brains splattered everywhere. She's dead. I slam the door exiting the room. I could hear Alex dialing the ambulance. I pick up the photo album and open the first page. It was a picture of her, aksari, and Jessie when she was a baby.

They don't deserve this.
