— emily's pov
I did the right thing; she's safe. I tell myself. I got a message from someone to meet them at a park. Most likely Ian. I walk to the chess table and have a seat waiting for him to arrive. Then, he comes and haves a seat." Hello, Lauren or Emily."
" Ian, what do you want." I've played into his games. Letting Jessie leave, meeting with him, and reacting. God! I was showing so many reactions. "Calm down; I wonder how's Spencer's doing, or if Morgan and Garcia are going to that movie tomorrow. how about Rossi or maybe JJ and her precious little boy or hotch." He looks me directly in the eye.
" my team hasn't done anything to you."
" how's your daughter in Italy? Jessie, right? I remember when we wanted a family." I pull out my gun and aim it under the table." I have a gun aimed out your crotch; what's stopping me from using it?" I look back at him directly in the eyes.
He pauses and looks around, closely leaning into me."Because you know you won't make it out alive." He's right; I settle back and put my gun back in my holster. "That's more like it." he pauses and looks around again. He probably has eyes everywhere. " I want you to surrender." he lets out the evil grin from before.
" No."
" Then, Jessie, and your team will." He makes a shooting motion at his head. " Don't threaten my team, and don't ever threaten my child. They are innocent."
" But, you are not." He takes a coin out of his pocket and puts it on the table. Then, he walks away. I exhale and then get a call from Derek. " hello."
" We have another possible murder. where are you?"
" at the florist hill park."
"Ok, stay there. I'm coming." I hang up the phone. I'm going to get him, and when it's over, everything will go back to normal. The wind blows in my face. Cold weather, hitting my face. My phone rings again. It's Jessie, oh she's finally calling me. " Hello?Hello?" I take a huge inhale.
" Yes, baby. it's me." I laugh. "how's Italy?" I smile." I missed you! Grandma had to go to work early. so I'm getting settled." I see Derek's car pull up, and I make my way towards it.
" ugh, you don't understand. How quiet it is now! I missed you too! did grandma make you her famous risotto?" I laugh and enter the car. "She thinks she's Italian." she laughs over the phone. Morgan ushers waves hi, and starts to drive.
" Ok, I have to go- but I'll call you as soon as I can."
" I love you."
" love you too. Bye." I hang up the phone. Morgan smilies. " Everything's better on your end." I nod as Morgan pulls up to the house; we see men in masks exiting the house. " Morgan!" I pull out my gun and hide behind the car with Derek. They start shooting. Morgan shots back- then, I begin to shoot. They had automatic weapons. I run after them, hiding behind the cars, Morgan right behind me. I finally get someone in the leg, which disables them. Another shot gets fired but not at us. At the team member that was injured. Then, they drive away in a van.
" Emily, are you ok?!!" I nod and run towards the suspect. He's choking on his blood. He's not going to make it. Morgan puts on his gloves and reaches for his wrist. " Why would they shoot him there."
" What do you mean?" I look at the unsub's wrist. "They were good shooters; they could have easily done a headshot. but they didn't." he inspects his wrist. " Emily, look at this." he shows me a partial tattoo that was blown off on impact.
" They shot it off to avoid identification," I say, looking at him." So what are we looking at?"

I finish folding my last shirt into the cupboard. The room was bare, neutral color. At least I'm not staying here for long. I go into the bathroom to wash my face; it was getting late. Then, from the corner of my eye, I saw it. A scale. my heart drops. Don't step on it. You're not thin enough. A voice in my head says. But, impulsively, I do.
52.1kg the scale reads, that's around 115 pounds. I had lost 40 pounds. That's not enough. But I was so hungry. My mind was spinning; I look into the medicine cabinet. Everything was in Italian; I try to translate.
Pain reliever
melatonin
laxatives
heart medication
blood pressure medicationThat was all I could make out; melatonin seemed like a good option. Just sleep to take away the hunger. I down about four of the pills and hop on the bed. I open my poem book.
I know what it's like to be
