Problem

You sigh as you walk through your bedroom door and dump your belongings in a corner near the door. Your steady breathing becomes heavier as you remove your shoes. Yea, you didn't think that it was possible for a human being to be this drained and exhausted but you're the proof.

You try to find a good reason to go socialise with Mike's friends downstairs but you can't seem to do it. You trudge to your closet and pull a random dress out, hoping that it's good enough for him and his friends. You look at it for a very long time and somehow get lost in your thoughts because you didn't hear the door open, close and footsteps approach you.

You are startled by warm and strong arms wrapping themselves around you that also seem to have pulled you back to reality. The scent of his cologne wafting through the air between you is enough to put you at ease and he takes note of this when you sigh contentedly, relaxing into him with his body warmth acting as your blanket.

No words were said but there weren't any that needed to be said. He knows that you're all he needs and vice versa. He turns you around in his arms and places a light kiss to your temple. Leaning further into his touch, you direct your arms to up his thick ones and rest them around his neck.

You look up at him and see a smile that he says only you can be the cause of. Blushing and angling your head towards the floor, you kiss the exposed skin near his neck and leave your lips lingering as you feel the heat rising to his cheeks. He felt the difficulty of your day through your body as a heavy sigh escaped your lips and his heart sank because he felt totally helpless.

Feeling the weight of his head lower onto yours, you slowly move out of his arms and make your way to the dress you forgot about. Feeling eyes on you, you ignore him and make your way to you shared bed. You closed your eyes as your back made contact with the softness, instantly making you want to sleep your shitty day away.

A deep chuckle sounded throughout the room and your eyes shot open as he gracefully picked you up and placed you on his lap, a giggle escaping your mouth before you could stop it.

A blush coats your face before you have the chance to stop it or even will it away but this time, you don't mind it because you feel pure happiness when you're in his arms. The happiness is short-lived when your phone rings and you reach for it and see that your boss is calling. A heavy sigh leaves your lips and you answer the phone with a heavy heart.

You make a move to get up from Michael's lap but he senses your sudden mood change and keeps you in place. Your face falls as your boss tells you that you need to work another shift ands that it starts in five minutes. Your eyes widen and you scramble to get your bag because you're still in your work clothes and rush to your car, leaving your pouty husband-to-be home alone for the next few hours, again.

Your boss is waiting for you when you pull into the parking lot and you notice that he is the only one there. Sighing mentally, you make your way to the door of the diner and get your apron on and start cleaning the tables.

The doorbell ringing sounds throughout the entire place and a tall man with blue eyes, shoulder length chestnut brown hair and a slight beard that was growing in still, walked in through the door and sat at the table I was cleaning. Sending a smile his way, I fetch a menu for him and give it to him before hearing my boss call me to his office.
