You weren't yourself. Anyone with a braincell could see that. Your job was stressful enough because you were the only one doing all the work that was supposed to be done as a team. The assholes you were teamed up with were absolutely useless. They were all entitled pricks that just wanted to say they had a good job.

For you, it was your survival. You worked for your family and even they did nothing to help you with housing them, not even the fucking chores. So you moved out and left them to figure themselves out. Then you met Michael. He was sweet, tall, handsome, caring, funny and overall, a really good guy.

The two of you became fast friends and stayed that way after learning what he does for a living. You didn't judge or shame him because acting itself was a difficult industry to stay in. He was appreciative of your seemingly boring job but figured that you would be able to find loopholes in anything anyone could ever say to you as a lawyer for small but prestigious firm.

Things were going great in your life and with Michael until your mother and father showed up at your door during one of your movie nights together. You opened the door, thinking it was your food delivery but it wasn't. Before another breath could leave your body, they'd thrown themselves through the front door and they had seen Michael on the couch with your favourite animated movie paused on the screen. They were stunned for a second before turning around to berate you.

"How dare you leave us with nothing? If it wasn't for us, you wouldn't even have a fancy law degree. What do you have to say for yourself young lady?" Your fuming mother screeched her questions out of her mouth while you rolled your eyes. "I left because I was done being your maid and your slave. Every single day, I work, I cook, I clean and if that isn't enough for you, I did all the housework with zero energy while you eat my food and wear clothes that were bought with my money and slept in a house that I paid for. Everything was about you and never about me so I decided that I would stop feeding your stupid cocaine habit and build a life for myself. I made a name for myself with my hard work and you wanting more money to, to kill yourselves or whatever isn't what's going to happen here. You're going to leave and when you do, don't fucking come back!" You ended your rant with yell.

Meanwhile, you hadn't realised that Michael was standing behind you, ready to put his arm around you but your father stopped him by speaking. "So you decided to shack up with the first man that gives you attention you've been craving your whole life? I thought you were smarter than that. We'll leave but this isn't the last time you'll be hearing from us. After all, we're family." With those words out of your father's mouth, Michael's hesitation dissipated and he proceeded to open the door wide as his other arm pulled you closer.

They left but the mood was now ruined after their unwelcome visit. You were barely keeping it together and as soon as the door was shut and locked, you let it out. You cried like it was the only thing you could do right in the world and in that moment, Michael knew that you needed him more than your lips would ever let him know.

Hi everyone. I've been having a tough week. My best friend is in the ICU and I won't be able to see her for a long time once she wakes up. The whole situation hasn't been easy for me because I was on the phone when she swallowed the pills that put her in hospital and I felt very useless at the time and still do. I hope everyone reading this enjoys their festive season since Christmas is around the corner. Happy holidays beautiful people 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
