January 3rd
Avae had a nasty habit of second guessing herself and sometimes, it irritated her to no end. On top of that, she believed that none of relationships would ever last past Valentine's Day. There was a lot that she kept to herself but made it her mission that people knew how she felt about their unnecessary and obsolete opinions.
She knew that those who mind, don't matter and that those who matter don't mind. It just took a while for the message to sink in and at times, she didn't know where she stood with the phrase. The only thing that remained a constant thought in her mind was where she fit into the phrase.
Feeling conflicted was an unhealthy norm for Avae but it never deterred her from being there for her friends, no matter what it cost her. She knew that deep down, this was her way of running from her problems - and everyone knew that there too many. The people that really knew her knew that she didn't want to be reminded of the events that occurred two years before with Jason.
She knew that she couldn't avoid him forever, especially if they were going to be living in the same building.
He is the ex boyfriend of the only person that ever had any kind of faith in her. He is the only person that actually pushed her to stand up for herself and believe in herself. Avae feels like she shouldn't be this close to Diana's ex boyfriend but she knew that neither could help what happened on New Year's Eve and he knew that but didn't feel guilty about what he did with Avae. He is Michael Evans Behling.
Avae, on the other hand, is being eaten alive by the fact that she slept with the ex boyfriend and Chantel was getting married to some wealthy businessman. She had no knowledge of this until after she is told by her friend's seemingly effervescent mood when they meet at for their weekly lunch at a café they both grew up loving - Starbucks. Diana, however, was still wounded by the fact that her ex boyfriend, Michael, suddenly broke up with her. While sitting there and catching up with Diana and Chantel, Avae tells her about her engagement to Jason Monaghan. Jason Monaghan is the worst person that Avae has ever met and Diana knows why, now that Avae has opened up about her troubled past with the wealthy but disgusting businessman.
Avae is yet to tell Diana about the things that Jason did to her all those years ago. The only problem was that she knew that Diana wouldn't ever understand why she was going through with this absurd excuse of a wedding. Speaking of, Avae still had to go dress shopping for her upcoming wedding on her 25th birthday.
Sighing at the thought of getting married in seven and a half months, Avae sighs into her phone as her sister, Emily, tells her that she is town to help her find a dress. Suddenly, Avae was in a hurry to leave and practically ran into someone's hard chest. The stranger's arms steadied Avae before her ass kissed the floor.
The stranger is the person she has been avoiding since she woke up with hickeys all over her body on New Year's Day. The man she slept with until the sun came up the next day. Standing in front of her was the man that wouldn't leave her mind, in all his 6'2 glory, was Michael Evans Behling.
Avae knew that she wasn't going to get out the interrogation that he had planned for the next time he saw her but all of that went out the window when their eyes met. This was a conversation Avae didn't want to have in a cafe. Wow! Avae really should have picked her one night stand better but at the same time, he was the best she ever had and she didn't really regret anything that happened between them that night.
