Michael:
I called Samantha as soon as Y/N left. I tried to follow her but I lost her in the crowd. I kept going in the direction I last saw her take but I didn't get far before sighing in defeat. She was gone. Like, there was nothing I could do so I went home.
Walking into the lobby and heading for the elevator, I see her get in and I squeeze myself into the empty elevator with her. She didn't look at me as I watched her intently, trying to find the words to apologise to her for getting her fired earlier today. I open my mouth and I see that she's about to step off and try to stop her but I see my apartment door too and get get off the elevator.
I stop her from entering her apartment by calling out to her. "Hey, uh, do you have a minute to talk?" I ask her, stammering a bit, which is unusual for me because I'm usually confident in myself but this girl completely threw me off my game today. She looked at me, as if she was trying to suss my intentions out with her. She crossed her arms and looked at me like I shouldn't have opened my mouth at all. "Look, I just wanted to apologise for this morning because I didn't get a chance to earlier when you took off. So, as a peace offering, or at least an apology, please let help you find your dream job and, uh, help get cleaned up. Your wrist doesn't look too good from what I saw this morning." I decided to shut up then and there as she limped closer to me, resulting in me swallowing the sudden lump of nervousness in my throat.
Before I could comprehend anything else, Y/N collapsed in my arms, soaking my shirt with her tears. I held her as she cried and guided her back to the elevator with the hospital as my next destination. Getting to the parking lot, I find my midnight blue Shelby cobra GT 1000 and as soon as we're in, I race to the hospital.
Once we arrive, I tell the nearest nurse about the injuries I saw and I suspect that she hit her head or something. Head injuries are always taken seriously because there could be an underlying problem. I find my way to the waiting room and try to distract myself with going through my work emails and texts from friends and colleagues that I was supposed to be with at this present moment due to our plans but I told Samantha to fill them in on what happened.
2 hours later...
Feeling a light hand on my shoulder, I jolt awake, completely unaware that I fell asleep waiting for Y/N to finish being tended to. I look up and see the nurse I talked to hours prior to my impromptu nap. She was holding a bag of medication out for me to take, informing me that I had to take care of Y/N's broken wrist as well as her since she would need help with the majority of her daily activities.
I look around in search of the woman and soon enough, our eyes meet and she walks toward me. I stand up but she walks right past me and I follow her, guiding her to my car and taking her home. I explained that I have to take care of her until her wrist is fully healed.
A couple of weeks later when her wrist working perfectly....
No POV.
The two bonded and ended up having a close relationship with the other. They weren't dating but the feelings were there and she wondered if they would be where they are now if she hadn't gotten fired that day.
