Jaeyoon's POV

You were pacing the room while Cody and Samantha watched you from the couch. You had no idea where the hell your boyfriend had disappeared to after the both of you argued over something insanely trivial that escalated and ended up bringing out how he really felt about you and your family — they could be a bit much sometimes but they knew when to be adults and handle things maturely when it was necessary but he clearly felt differently, seeing them as childish beyond belief.

Samantha slowly got up and walked over to you to try stop you from wearing a hole in the floor. She knew that you were stressed and you'd told your family in Busan that you'd be there for the reunion since your brother would be there this time, finally having gotten some time off work and he said he'd bring one of his friends. You really didn't want to go back home without fixing things between you and Mike. "Hey," Samantha's voice filled the room softly and a bit suddenly since she was in front of you, "he's fine wherever he is. He probably just needs to blow off some steam before he says something he can't take back and loses you forever, okay? Now, have you had anything to eat yet," she asked as she managed to make you sit on the couch, where Cody was ready with open arms to comfort you.

You shook your head at Samantha's question about you eating and sunk into Cody's arms as the tears started welling up in your eyes and the last thing you saw when Cody pulled you closer was Samantha's disappearing figure in the direction of what you knew was Mike's kitchen. You huffed slightly to try stop the onslaught of tears but it didn't work as Samantha's return with a sandwich for you sparked something else in you that you seemed to realise all of a sudden — he never did things like this for you in the two years you'd been together and the shrill sound of your phone ringing brought you out of your thoughts and peeking at the screen, you saw your brother Jimin's contact name on your screen.

With a heavy groan, you answered the call while signalling to your two friends that you'd be okay on your own before disappearing to talk to Jimin. "Hi, Jiminie. What's up," you ask as you watch Cody and Sam leave the apartment and switch to speaking Korean with your beloved brother. Waving at them, you listen to him ask if you were bringing anyone with to the reunion. You rolled your eyes at the question, knowing full well that your older twin brother could practically see what you just did. "No, I'm not Jiminie. It's just gonna be me. Your friends still crashing the thing? I need a distraction from everything here," you say, mumbling the last bit but this was one of those times that you hated how attentive Jimin could be because he heard what you thought you'd mumbled to yourself.

Anticipating a yell from your brother, you pulled the phone from your ear just as you heard him inhale to start yelling. "What the hell do you need a distraction from when you're the lucky one between the two of us? Is it that stupid boyfriend of yours," he asked, animosity filling his voice as he mentioned Michael but the underlying concern was what you focused on because him hating Michael was the least of your worries at the moment. "Jiminie, he isn't coming because we fought and he's disappeared and I've been trying to find him but I gave up and came back to his place and I haven't left. I'm hoping he'll come back and we can talk it out but if not then I'll see you at the reunion in a week, okay," you reassure him and as you do, in walks Michael being escorted by Daniel and Hunter. You quickly make up an excuse to get off the phone and say goodbye to Jimin and hang up without giving him another second of your time.

"Where did you guys find him? I've been waiting for him to come home and then he comes home like this," you ask them and they both look everywhere but in your direction, knowing why he's so fucked up. Almost inaudibly, Michael whispered something that had you packing your stuff and rushing to your own apartment and proceeding to pack all your things while calling your childhood best friend because you knew that Jimin would freak out so you told your friend to keep a lid on what just happened because if your brother saw you in Seoul or Busan before the reunion, he'll go apeshit. Why would Michael even say something like that? Ever?
