To say that Michael was devastated would the understatement of the century. He didn't think that his life would take a turn like this after one phone call from you but the moment he answered it and heard someone else's voice asking if he was your boyfriend, the smile on his face instantly wiped off as he heard that you'd been in a car accident. The paramedic continued to inform him of your injuries and with each one he heard, more tears filled his eyes until they were falling silently, staining his happy expression.

Once the paramedic was finished listing your injuries and chances of survival, Michael inhaled and exhaled shakily until he was stable enough to make a decision. Without letting anyone know what was going on, he swiped his keys off of the kitchen counter and stormed out, slamming the front door shut as he did.

In less than ten minutes, he was parked outside the emergency room of the hospital you were taken and frantically searching for answers about your condition. The charge nurse saw his state and told him to wait in the waiting room for a bit until a doctor came looking for him. Michael's energy was completely gone and the only thing keeping him from breaking was the hope that you would be okay. The only problem was that his hope was dwindling as the minutes passed and turned into hours before hearing any news about you and for some reason, he felt the knot in his stomach get tighter than what was deemed comfortable.

Hours passed and Michael tried to distract himself by pacing the small expanse if the waiting room outside of the operating room. The anxiety coursing fiercely through his veins. Tears long forgotten but ever present. Michael knew that what he was thinking about needed you to be alive and well for his thoughts to manifest the way he wants them to but the possibility seemed bleaker every minute he was uninformed of your health status.

It felt like he waited an eternity and then some before getting any news on you and when he did, he dropped to his knees and cried all the tears he had in him.
