We survived three months obsessing over the baby, my mom stayed after I gave birth and it was a blessing that we got a bigger apartment. Thiko wanted us to get a house but I didn't have time for that. With him also busy with school I had to do most things alone, with my mom or Candy. I'm not complaining though since he makes it up to me when he's around.
Since I gained weight, I jog in the morning when the baby is with my mom. It gives me time to think alone, I know I love my baby but she cries a lot. I find it cute when Thiko is around, she curls herself in his chest and sleeps. Less dramatic if you ask me. "Wanga" I know the voice so I stop jogging It's my ex. "Maanda" I say He smiles at me. Don't get me wrong but he's a very handsome man, older than me but a ten. We broke up when I was still in high school, hooked up few times after that but typical of me I was head over heels in love with him. "You look different, beautiful still but different" he says "I feel different, I thought you were in free state" I say "Was, I miss you" he says We have an eye lock moment. "I know I've hurt you too much and I'm sorry, I just want us to talk that's if you don't have any problem with it?" He asks "I can't, I'm sorry" I turn and continue with my jog leaving him behind.

I don't want to think about my encounter with Maanda, he's not good for me. The last time we hooked up, he told me he's with someone else. Just after sleeping with me imagine, I cried for weeks. I swore to never mess with him ever again, he was my best friend. I see Candy from a distance standing next to a car, she's with Sizwe and it looks like they're having an altercation. I can't hear what they're saying from where I'm standing, I don't think its a good idea for me to go there, what do I do? She kneel down, he gets in the car and drive. He doesn't even look at me as he passes. I run to Candy, who is crying hysterically. "I can't do this" she cries as I hold her "Babe let's get inside" I say She is sobbing, it breaks my heart seeing her crying like this. "I can't do this, I can't be here" She gets up I hold her hand "I can't allow you to leave like this Candy, you don't have to say anything but just get inside and cool down first" I say She doesn't resist but follow me inside, I will quickly make tea for her, I wonder why she's this hurt. Candy is not like me, she doesn't cry over a dude. I'm certain there's more to this than meets the eye. She's still in tears, I hand her the tea cup and sit next to her in silence. "I saw my ex just few minutes ago" I break the silence She doesn't say anything but wipe her tears "He said he missed me, not I'm sorry but that. Imagine" I exclaim "Wanga what are you doing?" She finally talked "Talking about my morning, I can't tell anyone about this. You crying and if you were in my position you would be anxious." I say "I'm pregnant" what? "Candy" I am speechless "Sizwe..." she cries "Babe it's okay, if he doesn't want the baby we can make this work. I know you are strong, you'll survive..." she cuts me off "Wanga please stop, for once just listen. " she shouts She looks triggered but this isn't about me. "I'm not keeping the baby" she looks away "Sizwe tied his tubes, that's how he found out I was cheating on him. I told him myself. I looked at him on his face, with a huge smile on and he couldn't look back at me. He hates me" she explains I have no words for this, I really have no words. I just hold her hand, while she cries. "It's Neo's baby" she continues Shoot me dead.
