16. Apologies

I finally decided on my wedding day, it's going to be after I give birth. Thiko wasn't happy about it but he finally made peace with it. I didn't want to be fat in my wedding dress and besides this time I want to do everything perfectly. So far Thiko has been trying and I've been here, he's still working all the time but his little gestures makes my day. All I do is eat, sleep and nag him. I have no job and that makes me feel useless.
Thabile texted me not so long saying she's coming, the weird thing is that I spend time with her now more than Candy.  Things between me and Candy are still tense and for what is worth I think it's about time we talk.
"I missed you" she says embracing me
"Can you be less adorable?" I embrace her
She lets me go and smile.
"Is Tk around?" Thandile asks walking in.
"No, he's at work" I follow her inside
She sits on the couch and wait for me to get settled.
"I hooked up with Khumo..." she exhales
"What?" I exclaim
Why am I being extra I knew this would happen but I wasn't expecting it.
"I know it's bad, that's why it didn't feel right..." she covers her face with her hands
"Thabile, I knew Khumo had feelings for you..."
She looks astonished
"Yes, he told me" I continue
"I can't believe I did it, I hate myself more than him" she says
"Stop, self loathing won't help you. Just embrace it now" I say
She looks at me "It was horrible, I cried the whole time..."
Okay too much information....
"The first time is always the worst sometimes" I say
"Does it mean I can stop hating myself and him for it?" She asks looking at me
I nod
"And by the way, Candy said she'll be here in few..." Thabile
"Why?" I ask annoyed
She looks worried that her face drops in an instant.
A knock on the door. I look at Thabile, she looks confused as I am.
"I'll get it" I say getting up
To my surprise it's not just Candy, but the rest of the crew except my man.
"Hello Wanga and Thabile" Luke waves at Thabile who's now standing
"What's going on here?" I ask closing the door
"It's Grant's birthday so we're having a braai..." Khumo says facing me
"Happy birthday Grant, so where is the braai?" I ask Grant
"Here...I'll go get booze in the car" he smiles and walk out
"Let's go get the meat...." Luke says to Candy
Now I'm left with Khumo and Thabile, I'm going to excuse myself for now.

I call Thiko as I get in the bedroom.
"Mine" he answers
"There's a braai" I say
"Pardon?" Him
"It's Grant's birthday and they're having a braai party" I explain
"Oh where?" He asks
Is he serious?
"Here, they have everything ready. I thought you knew..." I say
"I didn't even know it was Grant's birthday, I hope you are okay with it though if not you can chase them out" Thiko
I laugh "No, I can't do that. They're your friends"
"Our friends Babe, I will make sure I get home as early as possible. How is my baby?" Him
"He's good just missing you..." I say
"Tell her I'll be there in a few, with plain yogurt and raisins" Thiko
"It's a boy..." I protest
"I love you Wanga, I'll text you once I'm done with my shift" he hung up
That's that, now I must cook braai pap and gravy. Yes, we are having a braai.

I head downstairs, Khumo is on his phone but Thabile is not where I left her.
"Where is Thabile?" I ask him
"She's outside with everyone else" he says that still on his phone
"What did you do Khumo?" I ask
He looks at me "I sat down and she walked outside, I didn't have to do or say anything for her to hate me"
"You had sex with her, you hurt her Khumo...I am now involved because you couldn't keep your dick to yourself." I stop
I'm not supposed to be saying all this.
"She said that?" He asks calmer
"I shouldn't have said that..." I walk to the kitchen
"She started crying the moment I tried getting in, I wanted to stop but she said no. There was no penetration, she kept saying it hurts so I couldn't do anything. " he explains
"She doesn't answer my calls, texts or look at me anymore and it drives me mad because I don't know what I'm supposed to do." He stops and look away
"You sound like you still want to have sex with her" I say
"Have sex with who?" Candy as loud as ever
We look at each other then her...she doesn't know.
"Candy, can we talk?" I ask
Khumo looks worried. She nods.
