7. Don't wake me up

I had the best night of my life and a beautiful morning too. He kept saying I must plan the wedding soon, but we have our lives ahead of us so there's no need to rush.
I'm on my way to work, music on and  I'm playing Shania Twain_ You've got a way. He's got his way with me, with everything. I have never been this happy.
He's calling me.
"I'm not at work yet baby" I answer
"I know, please come back" he says
I laugh. "Stop being crazy"
"Stop being so cold" he says
"That reminds me, aunt has a date tonight so Thabile will babysit. I'll give her the keys." He says
"Who's she going on a date with?" I ask
"Her husband, who else?" He says
"I'm just curious" I say
He laugh
"You did that on purpose. I will drive home tonight, I want to be with my fiancee" Thiko
"Ain't you a sweetheart when you're engaged, if I knew I'd have proposed myself" me
He roar with laughter. "I would've said no"
"You wish" we're laughing
"Babe play our song" he says
"Which one?" I had no idea we had a song
"Meddy_slowly  it became our song this morning. I love you Wanga, I'll text you when I get to work" he hang up

I get to work early today, I had an early bird this morning so he woke me up. Sizwe is at the reception, he sees me and wag his head.
"Good morning my love, we had so much fun last night and I was wondering if we could do it again..."
"Are you sure you are not crazy?" He asks
"Will it make us a thing?" I ask
He laugh "Hell No"
"I know you love me" I wink and pass him.

At the lab I have Edzani to deal with, I don't know what's the deal with her but she's always in my space.
"Good morning" she says grinning
"Hi Edzi, what's with the grin?" I ask
She claps her hands.
"So, you used my laptop to login to your email account last week remember?" She asks
"I'm surprised you still have it, why didn't you delete it?" I am annoyed
"That's not the point, you got engaged!" She exclaims
That's also not the point, I look at her.
"You read my emails?"
"You know what, don't answer that. We are getting married soon" I say
"So you are planning all this without even telling me, if i didn't read the email I wouldn't know right"
Not that it's any of her business but since I am a good friend I will let her know
"Thiko said it's a secret so I couldn't break my promise to him" I say
rolls her eyes "He is just obsessed with you" Edzani
Remember this conversation? Because I do. Now let me tell you what happened after this conversation.

I have to rush home since Thabile is looking after Nkhumbuleni alone, I don't think that's fair on my part. I rush to the car at the parking lot.
"Wanga" damn
"Hi Maanda" I smile
"You are so beautiful" he says looking at me
"Thanks but I have to go now" he holds my arm
"I miss you, I made a mistake letting you go and it's something I'm not going to do again" he says
"I'm engaged now..."
"Do you love him?" He cuts me off
"Yes, I do." I say
He keeps his eyes on mine, then move to my lips.
"Does he make you feel things, I made you feel? Because I remember everything..."
"Stop, please. This is not worth it..." I try letting my hand go but he doesn't let me go.
"I remember you breathing heavily on my chest, cry out my name and other series of events." He reaches for my face
"You still hold your breath and close your eyes when I touch you..." he says
What's wrong with me? I shouldn't be letting him get this close to me but I'm entertaining him. I take his hand off me and let myself go.
"I still do all those things because I remember everything you did to me  when I fell madly in love with you yet you picked someone else over me..." I sigh
"I love you Wanga" he says
Jesus!
"You are my best friend and I'll always love you Maanda but I'm in love with a great man. He makes me feel things I've never felt before and I'm sure you felt that for her too. You're hurt and I can't always be your rebound, that's not love" I explain
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, when you lost your father. I hope you forgive me and I get to meet your baby" he says
I smile.
"I forgive you, you'll meet the golden baby soon don't worry" I say
We hug, he kiss me unexpectedly. It feels good but I can't do this,  so I push him back.
"I wanted a reminder of when you used to be mine, I love you but you should go..." he opens the door for me to get inside, I do.
He wave at me and walk away. I don't want to lie but that felt good,  the fact that he apologized and took ownership of his actions. There was a time I needed that desperately, I'm at peace.
