25. While we're young

We arrived at Life Grand Cafe at waterfall city, my cousin take over and orders everything I could possibly think off. Either he is staving or just like wasting food.
"We won't finish all that food" I say
"Speak for yourself, Adi is always eating green things and I just want some meat for a change." He says
Adi laughs.
"I don't force you to eat, you just eat..." she says defensively
"I'm trying to be supportive..." he answers now looking at her
"Hahaha, I know you cheat my diet when I'm away" she smiles
He wants to laugh but he doesn't.
"I'll never do that to you..." he has a smirk on his face
"You two are weird" I confess
The both look at me.
"I'm glad tonight I'm going out with one of you or I'll be left feeling like a third wheel" I say
Lufuno stares at me.
"I was trying to make her jealous by  coming here, leaving her with the baby. While we go out and party." He says
"He's lying, I'm the one who suggested to babysit. He needs to have a life apart from me" Adi says
I'm confused.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask
She looks at him hesitant about her response then back at me.
"I'm his emergency contact, he checks up on me more than 3 times a day, he hates every guy who I know that he crushed  3 of my meetings thinking I was lying about it..."
He cuts her..."I never said that, besides I had no idea all that bothered you so much"
She looks at me, with a faint smile.
"When he's drunk, I'm the only thing that's on his mind." She frowns
"What's wrong with that?" I ask
Her face falls.
"Nothing, he's perfect and that scares me. I'm just that kind of person who fears perfection." She says
That's deep.
"Wow" I have no words for what she just said.
"I'll be back..." Lufuno gets up and walk away.
There's silence for minutes, until Denzhe starts talking.
"She's so adorable..." Adi says
"Thanks" I smile
She's still obsessing over Denzhe.
"Are you cheating on Lufuno?" I ask
Shit! That was so random.
"No, I'm not that type of girl. I'm the girl who's always cheated on." She says
"Then..." I try to speak but she doesn't allow me to finish
"I have breast cancer, I don't want to be selfish and expect him to go through all that with me. I know how much it can take from a person, my mom battled it twice but when it was all set and done...she didn't make it. Compassion fatigue, she was physically  and mentally exhausted." Adi explains
"I'm being emotional about it, not that I want to cry but I can't help it. I'm so sorry Adi...but I have Radical faith and a part of me believe you'll survive this not maybe your story will be different from your mother's." I wipe my tears
She smiles.
"I've told myself that a thousand times trust me, but I'm realistic that's the only problem. Seeing Lufuno everyday just being himself, makes me feel like I will break him. I don't deserve his love, especially if it won't last..." she says
"You don't know that." I protest
She looks at Denzhe.
"I'll never be able to give him a baby..."
"Stop!please don't say anything more..." I raise my hand
Her smile disappeared.
"You still have a womb, a lot of eggs and Lufuno is rich, you guys can have a surrogate. Adi, I'll never be pregnant again too. I'm sorry for referencing but it's not the end of the world. If you make a decision to leave Lufuno right now, nevertheless not fight this cancer, I will understand and respect your decision. I'm sure Lufuno will too because he loves you, I know that too. He is not the guy you just described few minutes ago, not the man hoe I knew back then..." I stop
I look at my baby girl.
"I don't want to change your mind or convince you, I did that once and I was blamed when things went sideways. Let's have a glass of wine and drink to life, how about that?" I say
She smiles at me,  then look at Denzhe.
"You're excluding someone" she points at Denzhe and we both chuckle. The best part is she also giggles like she can hear us.
"Why are you girls laughing?" Lufuno asks as he joins us.
"We're planning on ordering wine for Denzhe" Adi says
Lufuno looks at me wondering what's going on.
"Don't worry, it works like Allergex" I say and Adi burst in laughter
"Did you guys smoke something before we got here?" He ask but we just laugh
Our food and arrives, we eat until I'm stuffed and ready to party.
