Surrender -Under Re-Write

The next morning I wake up with a heavy weight on my stomach. It took me a moment to realize exactly what the weight was, but when I opened my eyes memories of the night before flooded my mind.

Danny laid sprawled out across my bed with his head on my stomach and his arm wrapped protectively around me.

His soft snores filled my ears, and the feeling of his breath on my skin where my shirt was slightly risen gave me the chills.

I carefully ran my fingers through his hair, earning a soft sigh from him. The mate bond truly amazed me. Even in his sleep he would react to my touch.

I was enjoying the quiet morning admiring my peacefully sleeping mate until a knock at the door and a jiggle of my door handle made my heart drop to my stomach.

"Angie? Are you up?" The voice of Maya rings out as she jiggles the handle again.

"We're supposed to go job hunting together today did you forget!" She yells.

"I'm up I'm changing! Gimme a second!" I call out.

"Hurry up!" She yells.

I wait till I hear her footsteps descending down the stairs before I jump into action.

I try to get up and pry myself out of Daniel's hold but his grip tightens.

"Danny wake up!" I whisper scream. "We over slept"

He only groans and snuggles more into my stomach. If we weren't about to be caught I would've probably thought that was cute.

"Danny get up!" I say again as I shake the arm that's wrapped tightly around me.

Danny finally lifts his head and opens his puffy eyes.

I take the chance to get out of his hold and hop off the bed.

"You need to get up and go" I say as I tug the blanket off of him.

"This is not how I expected to be woken up today." He groans in a deep morning voice that sends a chill up my spine.

Fuck that was sexy

"Well we over slept and you need to leave NOW" I whine.

"Okay okay. But you owe me" He says giving me a teasing glare before standing up and slipping his shoes on.

"Yeah Yeah Whatever" I mumble.

Once he grabs his things off my desk table he turns to me.

"I'll see you later" he winks and carefully climbs out the window.

I really hope my neighbors aren't outside this early in the morning...

"Angelique!" I hear Maya yell from downstairs.

"I'm coming!" I yell back.

"So what's up with you locking your door the last couple of nights?" Maya asks as she sips on her smoothie.

We've been at the mall all morning applying at any store we thought might hire us for the summer. I was hoping to get some money saved up since I wouldn't be able to work as much once classes started in the fall.

After walking the whole mall and filling out applications we decided to grab some food before heading back home.

"Well I was home alone at night yesterday. It makes me feel safe." I shrug.

Maya gives me a funny look. "Dude you're a werewolf and can probably take anyone twice your size." She deadpans.

"I never said it made sense Maya." I bite back.
