Sunday morning came up fast. We had our last day of training on Saturday and Sunday was clean up day.

Most of leadership wouldn't be leaving till later this evening or tomorrow morning since we had to close down most of the cabins and clean up the area.

In all honesty I hated spending so much time out here because when it was time to leave, I was never ready to go.

Our land in Alice was one of my favorite places out of all the private land our pack owned. Being here for a week has spoiled me, and as we all sat down for breakfast that morning I almost begged my parents if we could stay out here for another day and not leave this evening.

"Daniel, Angie, after breakfast we'd like a word with you both." My mom says sipping her coffee.

Curious eyes of the rest of my family landed on us, but no one spoke.

"Yes ma'am." Daniel says with a respective nod. He glances at me and I can start to feel his nerves. From under the table I take his hand in mine and squeeze it, him squeezing mine back three times.

"So what's the plan for Denver?" Toby asks my dad.

"Well, plans are still being made. I don't think Arthur has even picked a date."

"Have you guys spoken to him?" Tara asks.

My mom shakes her head. "Everything we know about him is coming from the other leaders. I think he's checked out." She says warily.

"I mean. I would too." Toby shrugs.

"I just hope Leah's okay" Maya trails off.

"I think that's why Lilith is going. She might bring Leah back with her for the rest of the summer." Alyssa says.

"Really? I would think Arthur would want her with him at all times now." I say.

My mom clears her throat awkwardly. "I don't think it's that black and white love. Arthur not only lost his mate but he lost a child. His youngest to be exact. Not to mention the way she was killed and how it happened was very... bad." She says glancing own at Anna slightly.

"Well what happened exactly?" Tyler asks.

"It's not table conversation." My dad says before anyone else could speak up.

The rest of breakfast passes uncomfortably slow. Most of my cousins tossed their plates before finishing and left to finish clean up. All that was left were my parents, aunts and uncles.

Daniel and I had finished eating, and my mom finally spoke up after a long silence.

"Daniel I want to be 100% open with you. We have some bad news." She says reaching across the table and resting her hand on top of his. He squeezes mine under the table again.

"We got ahold of your old leaders in New York. They were happy to hear you were alright, but they confirmed our suspicions about how your dads friends found you" she says sadly.

Daniels body stiffens beside me. My aunts and uncles look at him with eyes full of sympathy.

"I'm afraid Aaron, the leader who helped you, was found dead about a month ago."

Daniel's hand begins to sweat against mine. I can feel his pain and heartbreak in my chest.

"What about Seth?" He asks with a slight shake in his voice.

My parents share a look of sorrow and I know it can't be good.

"He went missing about a week before they found Aaron, he is presumed dead. They think your dad went to Seth first, but of course he didn't know anything. Then he went to Aaron and thats how he found the records of you being in Colorado."
