Daniel's POV

"This isn't a good idea Daniel." Elise says. "You can't be alone. If he finds you then what?"

"Then he can kill me or hurt me or whatever the hell he wants to do" I say angrily. "Just as long as Angelique is safe, and so are the rest of you."

"What does safe matter if she's in pain worrying about you?" Alyssa says in a slightly angry tone.

"At least she'll be alive. That's all I care about."

"It's cowardly." Damien says.

I look over at him shocked at his bluntness. "I'm trying to protect the people I care about. If that means running away then I'd do it." I say back.

"But it's not necessary. Your dad is a single man with a vendetta. He couldn't hurt our entire pack Daniel. I don't even think he can get to you now that we all know what's happening." Damien says.

"Well he managed to have a child killed. The break ins were bad sure but a child was killed." I say putting emphasis. They don't realize how he'll stop at nothing to get to me.

"And it was all before we were prepared. We're prepared for a war when it's only one man. He doesn't stand a chance." Elise says.

"I don't want you guys to use your resources on me! I'm not worth it!" I say standing up. Yesterday I wouldn't dream about every raising my voice to anyone in this room, but they didn't get it. "My life is not worth putting any of your fighters in danger."

Damien stands up and comes around the table to look at me straight on. He didn't look like the type of man to get frustrated easy, he was always calm and collected when I'd see him, but right now he looked pissed.

"You're my daughters mate. Even if you weren't, and you were just a member of this pack we'd still fight for your life because that's what a pack does. Our way of life may have changed since our kind came to be but we still have the same goal. To protect our own against any threat. That is why we have multiple packs from other states involved, because although we are not the same pack we are all werewolves, and we protect our own at any cost. You going rogue goes against all of our beliefs, and although we can't control what you decide, I want you to know what you are doing is wrong Daniel. You have no respect for yourself and that is what makes you weak. You deny help and love from anyone who wants to give it to you, and that will be your downfall."

I stare at him completely shocked. I don't think I've ever heard him speak this much. I can tell the rest of leadership felt the same way he did as I caught glances of them in my peripheral vision. Maybe I was wrong to be a rogue, but all I could think was how guilty I felt thinking of Marcy. She didn't deserve what she got. A child is dead because of me.

"Please think about your next move." Alyssa says. "You don't have to die or disappear Daniel. You may not view your life as anything special but everyone here does. Angelique certainly does." She adds.

"You have a reason to fight. Running away will only cause more pain." Elise says.

I look at each person before nodding.

"We'll give you some time, and we'll talk about this again in a few days." Damian says. "I hope you make the decision that's right for you."
