"So. What do you think?" Lilith asks bumping my shoulder.
Lilith, Kai, Tyler, Tara, Daniel and I were all sat in a circle on some old some fold out lawn chairs as the party goes on around us. We had been here for about an hour and the place was packed. Lots of people stood around drinking or talking, even a few dancing to the music and swimming in the water hole.
"It's uh. Charming." I giggle when I look over and see my cousin Jonah doing a keg stand.
Lilith smiles and shakes her head at me. "The first time I came, Kai and Toby did a cannonball into the hole. And Tyler got obliterated." She says with a reminiscent smile.
"The first time you came out here you got kidnapped." Tyler remarks earning a punch in the shoulder from both Tara and Kai, and a smack upside the head from Toby who walked up behind him just as he said it.
"Ow. Fuck sorry." Tyler mutters as he looks to Lilith who has a sad smile on her face. Kai rests his hand on her thigh and rubs it soothingly.
I bite my lip nervously when flashes of that night come to mind.
"I'm sorry. Did I miss something?" Daniel chuckles awkwardly.
Everyone looks at him and each share a look.
"Uh. Well." Lilith begins.
"Maybe you shouldn't..." Kai says softly.
"No it's okay. I mean it's been years, and he's leadership now. He should know our packs history." Lilith says with an encouraging smile to Kai before clearing her throat and starting the story.
"Well long story short I didn't know I was a half-breed werewolf until I met Kai. Turns out my dad wasn't my actual birth father. My birth father, Ezekiel, was a leader of a pack in Mexico."
"Was he your moms mate?" Daniel asks.
"Yes unfortunately." Lilith says with a sad smile. "He was very abusive, so my mom left him and came to America with my grandma. She was pregnant with me at the time and went into labor the night she left."
I watch Daniel as Lilith goes on with the story, and I can feel his shift in emotions when Lilith goes into depth about her birth father.
"My mom had been close with the pack witch and was able to remove their mates mark so she could go into hiding with us. My mom and grandma hoped I didn't have the half-breed gene since it's possible for the gene to skip generations, but when I found Kai and my wolf awakened, Ezekiel was able to sense me and use a witch to find me."
