Ace POV
A few weeks after the holidays, things settled down. However, Kaitlyn was struggling. Hopping from the clubhouse to Kyle's house heightened her anxiety. Never knowing where she was sleeping, lugging everything around while not forgetting her meds, the dog, or anything else took a toll on her. Kaitlyn thrives on stability, so I started house hunting when I could, which I never thought I would do.
Killer thought it was a good idea, especially after walking in on his sister and I going at it one day. Thankfully, Kaitlyn never noticed. Otherwise her embarrassment would send her back into her shell. But since then, he has texted or called before coming home.
I checked out the neighborhood Killer and Blade lived in but returned defeated. Walking into the clubhouse, I found Angel laying across a booth, feet propped up on Tiny's lap as she talked with him, Gears, and Whiskey. She wore her Riders tank top and cut with cutoff shorts, and I hardened at the sight.
As if she could sense me staring at her beautiful tan legs, green eyes snapped in my direction. A sense of peace washed over me, and I knew I was home.
Angel stepped over Tiny and walked over to me, standing on her tippy toes, grabbing my shirt, and pulled my lips down to hers. I could taste the liger of her coffee on her sweet lips as she pulled away, smiling.
"Hi," she whispered. "I missed you."
"Hi, I missed you too."
"Where have you been?" she questioned, raising her eyebrows. Worried I was out for club business alone. Angel doesn't want to know my every move, but she cares and wants to make sure I am safe and come home to her.
"Out for a drive." Not exactly a lie. I kissed her forehead.
"I'll be right back. Tell Tiny to watch his hands," I growled, looking at the table where my brothers sat, staring at us.
She lightly smacked my chest, her green eyes burning into me. "Or you tell him yourself," Angel teased, winking at me, trying to get me to stay.
Angel returned to the table, taking her sweet time stepping over Tiny on purpose, pushing my boundary. She plopped down in the corner with her feet in his lap and smiled, satisfied with herself.
I squeezed my fists at my side, stopping myself from throwing Angel over my shoulder, reminding her exactly who she belongs to. But she will have to wait because I need to talk to Killer.
I knocked on Killer's door before entering and sat down.
"Looks like house hunting isn't going well. You're in here, not out there with Kaitlyn," he taunted, leaning back in his chair.
"There are houses, but none she deserves. I don't know what to do anymore," I stated, exhausted.
Killer nodded, knowing Kaitlyn deserves the best, and I will only give her the best. "Have you thought about building? Asking her to design the house she wants?" he asked.
The thought crossed my mind, but it means living with Killer for several more months, which didn't excite me. Angel needs space to be herself. To walk around in my shirt, not worried about her brother hearing her cries of pleasure. The thought of having her in my bed with her cut on giving me something to grip as I-
Killer cleared his throat. "I think you just found your answer. We both don't want a repeat of before," he laughed. Killer grabbed something from his desk and tossed it at me. He already found several ocean front lots, perfect for building a home.

I pulled off the main road, stopping when we hit an empty lot and turned off my bike. I helped Kaitlyn off before she took off her glasses, and I took the helmet off her.
She looked around, confused, before looking back at me. Grabbing her hand, I led her to the edge of the cliff, which overlooked the ocean. Her eyes lit up, and she smiled. The ocean brings her peace and where she is happiest.
Her small hand squeezed mine, and I kissed the top of her head. "Do you like it?"
She let out a small laugh. "Is that even a question?!"
"Good," I smiled, "because it's ours."
Angel looked at me, shocked and bewildered. "You...we...no Sam. It's too much! We can't afford this. Can we?" she questioned. "I don't have a job and-"
I pulled her face to mine, rubbing her cheeks. "Breathe Angel. We can afford anything your heart desires. You deserve the world, and giving you a home is the first step. All you need to do is say yes or no. The choice is yours, Angel."
My thumb grazed over her lip, waiting for her to decide and process my offer. Her eyes focused on my chest, glassed over, as she chewed on the inside of her bottom lip.
"You promise this isn't too much, and we can do this?" she whispered. Afraid I would pull the rug out from under her.
Angel doesn't know about the large nest egg I have, nor does she care. If she never wants to work a day in her life, then that's okay. However, Kaitlyn isn't the type to sit still or do nothing. She has ideas of how to help the club, and whatever she wants to do, the club and I will support her. But for now, I want to reduce her stress and let her enjoy life doing whatever she wants.
Leaning down, I whispered against her lips, "I promise."
"All I've ever wanted is a home, a place to call my own, and a man who loves me unconditionally. You have given me everything and more right here on this plot of dirt with you," she whispers, tears falling from her eyes. She tugged my cut, pulling me to her, and kissed me passionately.
"I love you, Kaitlyn."
"I love you, Sam."

Unknown POV
The Phoenix Riders have cracks. Cracks I can use to my advantage. They think they are safe and untouchable because they are the largest MC in the state, but that's far from the truth. Their actions have consequences. Consequences they have yet to experience.
I watched Tiger and Ace enter the clubhouse, which was well into a party celebrating who knows what. Both neglected to pay attention to what was lurking in the shadows, and I laughed. As an enforcer and protector of the princess, Ace was failing miserably at his job. And that will cost the Riders dearly.
Whiskey exited the club, leaned against the wall, and lit a cigarette, looking miserable. He's our way in. An easy, vulnerable target, one we can easily take down. Crumbling them from the inside one-by-one.
He finished his cigarette, put it out with his shoe, and took a deep breath before returning to the party. Tiger keeps Ace distracted. Killer's head hasn't been in the game for a while, and Whiskey is burnt-out. He seems ready for a change. A change he doesn't know he needs.
"What an unfortunate mistake, Riders. I'll be back."
