Inside the main lobby, the sound of the drums and the military bands could even be heard as some of the stained glass windows were opened and confetti would fly in from the crevices. People outside were bustling around and hollering at each other as goods were bought and sold while the city itself was flaring up from the special guest that had just arrived.
Grifvet was about to join up with the rest of the group with Bahamut, he overheard some Adventurers gossiping as they happily raised their mug full of wine.
"Yea, it was a large carriage with the crest of the Arnheit family. I think there's a war that's about to start! We should try joining up any Mercenary Army that the Kingdom might raise." His friend though had a more reserved stature, not sharing the same upbeat sense with him. "Hmmm... Just what could the Royals be up to now? Didn't a Sword Saint just appear? Could it be that she's in the city right now?"
Lowering down his wooden mug, the man in full plate sighs. "They're probably planning on doing something with the Outworlders. They've been taking up the hardest contracts and don't really speak Common."
His friend though shakes his head in disbelief of the rising water that's about to engulf the entire Kingdom once again. "Let's hope not. I prefer the peace we have right now. Those Outworlders, I've seen one of them cast a large spell without needing to speak or even move their hands and staff. These aren't normal people."
"Or... is the Vampire Kingdom at it again with their plans? Last I heard, a Vampire from a Purebred family came to Meilurious, something about a trade deal. Our Great King must've caught on with their plans and their alliance with our neighbor." Drinking his wine, the man just kicks his back into the chair. Smiling. "But with this, contracts for Mercenary work from the Lords should flare up and they pay the best."
"Hmmmm... no. I doubt it. Vampires live far away in that damned Continent of Schon and they neighbor the Kingdom of Vitas, they have no time to wage any sort of wars and show any sign of weakness. I think the rumors of them getting close with the High Elves might be due to their-" The man in lighter armor turns his head just as Grifvet moves on and walks to the party, joining them. Bahamut kept quiet, continuing to close her eyes and inspect the radiating Mana that seems to be fluctuating upward rapidly.
"Grif, What was that about? Contracts? Rumors for our next job?" He shrugs his head as he crosses his arms. "The festive noise outside, it seems to be connected with the Kingdom, something is happening that involves the Outworlders. The Royal Family carriage just passed by the main street." Eattare also heard some rumors gently pushing Pierence aside. "I also heard some commotion an hour ago. They said a beautiful blonde lady was with the Grand Prince. They headed straight to the castle being escorted by these strange Knights in Red..."
Eattare's grip on her staff tightens. "To be transported by the Royal Carriage... I believe the Sword Saint had just arrived in the city or someone just as important, we might not be able to adventure sadly." Pierence scratches the back of his head as he steps forward. "The rumors I heard were that the Cavalry escorting them seemed to be made up of Outworlders, no one had ever seen the flag they were flying or the armor they donned."
Bahamut turns her eyes to Eattare. Staring straight into her eyes. "What did this blonde woman look like? Does she have sharp features and a large chest? Did these rumors mention any golden sword?"
Rubbing her chin and looking up, Eattare lifted an eyebrow before she once again spoke. "Oh, the men I heard said she had blue eyes, long pretty golden hair and looked very attractive with two big racks. No sword though, she was wearing some bright frilly gown inside the Royal Carriage."
Closing her eyes once again, she could detect the familiar scent and Mana of a Chosen One deep inside the Castle's Throne Room, chatting with what seems to be people of equal or even stronger stature.
