With a heavy rain pouring down on City 01, the grayish atmosphere was helped by the lifeless colors of the formerly derelict buildings. Headlights of what working cars were present reflected brightly on the fallen shards swept on the sides of sidewalks as skeletons were busy installing new glass panels even at the strong gusts of wind and rain.
Turning to the umbrella rack by the multiple polished glass doors into the main lobby, none of it were reserved for personnel. Making him look at the guards by the doors. With a gesture, they instantly opened the door and saluted. "Yes sir!" The two reply with such life to them, excited to meet a 4-Star General face to face. "Are there any umbrellas or even overcoats that I can use? I need to check on Junior and pull the poor thing to a shelter."
"Uhhhh... Nacht, dude, you have an umbrella somewhere, right?" the other guard clicked his tongue and went into the Security Room. Going back out, he had a see through umbrella on his hands. Giving it to the General with a smile. "Sir." Taking it from his hands, it was perfect, though a bit large, it could easily protect him from the torrent outside the safety of the thick reinforced concrete walls of City Hall. "Busy day isn't it?"
"Yes sir, I did not expect to see the city all lively once again so quickly. We're even taking in new recruits already. Nacht here is a Hybrid Ranger Mage, sir." As the General waited for the rain to calm down a bit more, as the wind was blowing wildly to a single direction. Instantly soaking anyone from the waist down even with the safety of their umbrella. "What's the current number of players here?"
"A little over five thousand, sir. Well below the fraction of what the city is capable of housing." Clicking his tongue, the General's head swayed a bit at the number. "Jesus, I've only been gone for two weeks." Jackson then moves over as a man in a suit brushes over him. Hitting his shoulder rudely as he continued walking, ignoring the uniformed man. "Hey! That's a gener-!" He puts his hand over the MPs shoulder. "Let him be, looks like everyone is stressed."
Sounds of the drowning echo of the torrential rain began to lighten up, the darkened clouds divided and opened in some spots, letting in the rays of the sun into their view. "Alright, two of you with me." The two Human players looked at each other and smiled. "Yes sir!" The two MPs proudly join the high ranking Officer.
Walking down the concrete stairs to the front lawn, the fountain in the center of it had begun to once again squirt water. Entering the sidewalk, Jackson takes a good look around and sees that some of the people around are still wearing fantasy medieval outfits and knight armor. With their weapons sheathed and magical items still within their grasp.
He approaches a man sitting on a bench in chainmail. Slouched down, looking extremely saddened and traumatized. His wet armor didn't even bother the player as he hears the clacking of a pair of Oxford shoes and quickly looked in its direction. "Hello sir, may I ask where you came from?" Seeing the glint of the ribbons on the left of his chest and the 4 silver stars on his broad shoulders, he didn't hesitate to point. "Down south. South of the continent, near the ocean."
With his hands in his pocket, Jackson showed an extremely relaxed and chill attitude. "And how did you get here exactly? That must've been one hell of a journey." the player in full plate armor returns his gaze down to the sidewalk. "One of your Generals, Francis was it? Saved me and some of the citizens of our town from slavers, but many also got captured. I-I told them, I had nothing to do with the chaos of the first months but... they didn't care."
"I see, slavers huh. I get it they'd be a bit high level or medium level to take you on? I've been around and we players are built differently compared to the Humans of this world." his helmet clacked as he shrugged slowly. "They weren't. It was mostly there numbers. The Meridian Slavers didn't even care if we can return from dying. There mages would cast a curse on us and have us submit."
