Army of the Damned

AUTHOR'S NOTES

 It has been a wild ride since the start of this novel. Born from me and my friends practicing our English since it was Covid to this whole Saga that I think could easily fill 2 whole books worth of pages. This work has taken a pretty good portion of my teenage life and I am very happy to see it come to an end, finally. At the very tail end of my youth.

What was supposed to be a few volumes of just practice has turned into a massive novel that could easily span multiple books with its own extras and specials. Having many characters, nations, continents, and cultures and traditions. This novel is basically the mutant frankenstein amalgamation of all of my interests in life from media, games, literature, etc and I am very proud to see its end.

To those who had stayed since the beginning, followed this since its inception in 2021 to 2025, the end after so many years. I salute you, and from the bottom of my heart. You have my utmost respect for dutily reading this week by week, break after break and from the deepest part of my heart, thank you so much for coming along this journey. I am sure if you could see how my writing grew, shifted, changed, matured or immatured. How I experimented with things and new concepts and even delving my hands into horror, romance and so many other aspects of writing as I obviously learned along the way.

I don't know about making a sequel as with any books of such a scale, it takes years to complete another and when it's done, probably most of you have either graduated or got promoted on your jobs and became parents with your own houses and had begun reading better books already.

But I'll see if I have space for a Part 2, maybe a new one called "After the Damned" but it took me 1.5 Years to make this and it was at the peak of Covid when I had all of the time in the world to write, create, and think. But as one could see, since this is over now and not only have we all from ArchiveOfStories have graduated and found jobs and new hobbies, even the act of editing an entire volume could take a month or more now so a new novel could easily take me 3-5 years to create since I am the last one standing, KFCLover and I still have things and dreams I want to achieve before I'd like to return to committing a large portion of my time to writing.

We'll see as I said. I might find a cushy job where I can write and edit my novel and suddenly just after a year, a new novel pops out of this account out of the blue. That is still up to the future and hey, if that day comes, I sure hope you're still here to see it. Though it might not even be about the Army of the Damned Universe but something entirely new, maybe something set on Earth or a Cyberpunk Bladerunner type one just as a palate cleanser and to try something even more new since I've been writing Fantasy for so long now.

It's all up in the air right now and whatever the future holds, I'll see to it I get to release my creative writing side again and throw it into the vast void that is the Internet. Again, to those who had been here since the start or even a few months or just a new guy who found this, thank you for reaching the end. This is my Magnum Opus as they say and I am very happy overall with how it turned out. I know not everyone will like it and there will always be things to pick and prick about but that's just the matter with me, an imperfect person writing about creatures and beings far beyond that of a Human's ability.

If you're curious about my inspirations... I could easily go on a massive list but the biggest ones are of course, GATE, Overlord, Konosuba, Mushokou Tensei, and most of all, Log Horizon for the main story and world. With Hard Boiled, Blood Blockage Battlefront, Guilty Crown, Black Lagoon, Evangelion, and Lord of the Rings being more minor inspirations.

For characters, it's Conan the Barbarian, Battle Through the Heavens, Girls Frontline, Call of Duty(Old ones like MW2 and 4) and Excalibur (1981) for Paul Jackson and the Players. A crap ton of Horror and Cosmic Eldritch Animes like FATE Series, Monogatari, Rage of Bahamut, Kyousougiga, Mirai Nikki, Chainsawman for Bahamut. Vampire and Supernatural stories like FLCL, MARS RED, Kizumonogatari, Owari No Seraph, Vampire Hunter D, Claymore, for Alana and Elizabeth with a mix of any Anime with a Blonde woman on it lol like Noragami with Bishamon and Kizumonogatari Part III with Kiss Shot. Also Mars Red and the Vampires there.
