The Reverse

The smoke, the gunpowder and the bullets flying through the air all engrained into her memories. She saw her dad die over and over again while not being able to do anything.

She tried to call out to him but nothing came out, it was like her voice was ripped from her. The cold sweat ran down her forehead as she shot up in bed with a frantic look on her face until she saw her little sister standing at the edge of her bed.

"Are you okay?" Alice asked softly

"I-I'm fine." Grace answered trying to stop her hands from shaking. Alice took a step closer and put her hand on Grace's forehead and slowly Grace felt herself calming down and her breathing beming more steady.

"H-How'd you do that?" Grace asked

"Dad says that I should use my powers to help people not hurt them." Alice smiled sitting nec to Grace on her bed.

"Your dad seems like a nice person." Grace said as Alice smiled up at her.

"He's the best." She smiled warmly, "When he first found me I was all alone, but he came in and saved me." She said. Grace smiled softly thinking how their situations were similar.

"Don't stay up to late." Alice said jumping off Grace's bed and onto her feet, "Night night." She waved before leaving her room.

Grace smiled to herself and laid her head back on her pillow and for the first time that night she wasn't scared of closing her eyes and letting her dreams take control.

Barry was laying down in bed with Kara resting peacefully on his chest thinking about their future. The war with Belmont had to end soon and when that happened the biggest powerhouse in the war would be destroyed and all the other countries would pull out seeing as their was no other reason to fight.

But is there actually such thing as a happy ending in such a cruel and unforgiving world?

"Morning." Kara mumbled into his chest.

"Morning." Barry responded placing a soft kiss on her forehead.

"I w....wanna see the fireworks." Kara whined while still half-asleep.

"We'll go see the fireworks." He said slipping from her strong grip, "When this war is over, we can live happily." He whispered before leaving the room.

"Morning Barry." Grace yawned softly.

"How are you feeling?" He asked as she rubbed her eyes.

"I'm trying...." Grace said.

"If you need to talk I'm here." He smiled gentlely. He saw her smile and felt a cold chill run down his spine.

He looked out the window and saw a red flash speed past. His eyes widened and a cold sweat ran down his forehead.

"W-What?" Grace asked confused. All of a sudden Barry sped out of the house and chased after the red streak of lightning speeding around the city. They finally came to a stop inside of an arena.

"Who are you?" Barry asked seeing a man in a yellow suit with glowing crimson red eyes, "I never knew there was someone out there with my powers."

"I'm you....only faster and stronger." He answer before flashing behind Barry. He's used to seeing everything in slow motion, but for once in a long time there was something faster than him.

Barry fell to the ground having been pushed back as the man in yellow sped around him and threw punches. Every punch was faster than the last one and Barry couldn't keep up. The man in yellow was too fast for him.

"And you call yourself a speedster." The man in yellow mocked.

If he couldn't outrun him he had to beat him another way. Barry charged all his lightning into his hands and sent a shockwave across the floor. The man in yellow was shot back by the shockwave as Barry stood up and sped him against the wall.

"You'll only ever be a pawn in Belmont's game." Barry said.

He was about to vibrate his hand and kill him until he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. He looked down and saw a vibrating yellow hand through his stomach.

Barry dropped to his knees while trying to stay awake.

"Your family is next." The man in yellow said before flashing away. Barry gritted his teeth and got to his feet, he limped towards the wall before gathering all his strength together and running as fast as he could to save his family.

"Kara!!! Alice!!" He yelled while clutching his stomach. He saw Kara run out of their room before his vision blurred and he blacked out.

"B-Barry.....Barry!!" Kara cried running oevr to his unconscieneous body, "S-Stay with me..." She pleaded as Maddison and Oliver ran over.

"He's bleeding badly." Maddison said putting her hand on the wound on his stomach. Mist came out of her hand as she froze the wound close.

"That'll stop the bleeding for now, but without proper medical attention he'll die." Maddison said

"Maddie, don't let Alice or Grace see." Kara said as they all heard a thud on the floor.

"Daddy!!!!" Alice cried running over as Grace followed closely behind, "M-Mom, why is he like this?" She asked with tears on her cheeks.

"I-I don't know sweetie, but he'll wake up soon, i promise." Kara smiled trying to cheer her daughter up.

"Please.....dad, stay with me." Alice whispered while crying into his shirt, "Dad!!!!" She yelled shaking his body. The entire house started to shake and the windows shattered as tears fell from Alice's eyes.

Grace wrapped Alice in a hug and held her head into her chest.

"He'll be okay..." Grace whispered as Alice grabbed her shirt and cried into her chest.

"Wait, we know a doctor." Oliver said, "How fast can you fly to Barry's old home?" He asked.

Kara nodded and in an instant she was back with Nora and Henry Allen.

"W-Woah." Nora said holding her head

"Save him please." Kara begged as Nora and Henry looked at their dying son on the floor.

Tirelessly for hours Henry and Nora did everything they could in their power to save their son.

"How is he?" Kara asked

"His body is recovering at a normal rate for a speedster. He should recover in the next day or so but make sure he doesn't exert himself too much otherwise he may die." Nora said.

"Thank you so much." Kara said wiping her eye as Nora hugged her.

"How's he been so far?" Nora asked

"You know how he is. Always carrying his burdens by himself." She responded.

"Mom, is dad okay?" Alice asked tugging on her arm

"Yeah." Kara said as Alice smiled softly and hugged her teddy bear.

"Who's that?" Henry asked pointing over at Grace who was sitting by Barry's side

"That would be our second daughter, long story don't ask." Kara chuckled as Nora and Henry smiled and nodded

"Gracie, you gave to eat." Alice said walking over to her older sister.

"Aren't you scared that he won't make it?" Grace asked

"Kinda, but he promised he'll be with me forever and dad always keeps his promises." Alice smiled resting her head on Grace's shoulders.

Kara landed back at their house after speeding Nora and Henry back to their homes. She walked their room where she flopped onto the bed with a sigh escaping her lips. She walked over to the dresser to find a change of clothes but inside the dresser was a small velvet black box

Tears came to her eyes as she placed it back where she found it.
