The guilt for having avoided the blonde the last couple of days or so was eating her up. But so was the thought of talking to her. During a courageous instant, she had proposed to pick her up for the party. Surprisingly, Rosie had agreed. She had taken up the occasion after having come to knowledge that Seulgi would be out all weekend for a volleyball tournament. She pushed aside that part of her that felt guilty for other reasons. Right ones, this time.

The silent engine of her electric car couldn't have alerted Chaeyoung of her arrival, so she had texted her to let her know she was there. She figured ringing the doorbell wouldn't be the best option given the situation with her parents.

She didn't have time to plan in her head what she would say to the blonde because after a couple of minutes, Chaeyoung's figure made its way from behind the front door. She was wearing a white linen dress and had ditched her high heels for a pair of black converse. Jisoo stared at her as she walked to the car, taking note of how her blonde hair flew around along with her dress.

Seeing her like that made her recall their childhood and all the summers they spent together. For a blink of the eye, she was hit by a wave of nostalgia as she wished she could go back to those simpler times.

"Hi" Chaeyoung said as soon as she got into the passenger seat. Her eyes averting Jisoo's while she frantically tried to put the seat belt on.

There was something different about the girl that made Jisoo heighten her senses. She didn't comment on the younger's trembling hands or how she looked slightly out of breath.

Instead, she returned the greeting, her eyes never leaving the petite blonde seating next to her. Usually, she would be afraid of being caught or made fun of by the latter for staring. But after what happened the other day it was like, even if she had wanted to, she wouldn't be able to.

"What?" The younger finally said after having caught on to Jisoo's glaring.

"Nothing" the brunette said before spreading her mouth into a soft smile and adding "you look like you today"

"I'll take that as a compliment"

Rosé tried hiding how her cheeks were tinting a light shade of pink by fidgeting with her hands on her laps.

"It is. It's a good thing" the older confirmed while still checking on the blonde girl.

They fell into a natural silence which neither the hybrid engine of the brunette's car dared to disrupt as they finally started making their way to the party. She forced her eyes to stay focused on the road, while her nose picked on the smell of freshly picked out roses that Chaeyoung emanated from the passenger seat.

She was humming along a song that was playing on the radio. Jisoo wasn't even sure she knew the words.

"So, how did your family take it?" She said after a couple of awkward minutes went by.

"Oh you know. My mum's still in denial but my father and my sister are pretty supportive, I guess"

"That's good"

"She didn't wake me up this Sunday to go to church with her"

"Every cloud has a silver lining?" She tried joking. The air between them had grown extremely awkward since their last meeting. Honestly, it was a miracle how they were talking to each other after she had avoided Chaeyoung almost all week.
