Lisa's mum found them. Curled up on the floor, facing each other and with their foreheads touching. They had both fallen asleep, but she wouldn't dare waking them up. So, before throwing a last adoring look at them, a smile on her face at the sight of young love, she laid a blanket on them before turning on her steps and closing the door behind her.

She had called Jennie's parents who had been far from enthusiastic about her daughter's sleepover at Lisa's house. Still, Jennie's mum kept her fake nice tone the whole conversation, even thanking Lisa's mum for the hospitality.

Jennie had been the first one to wake up. She couldn't tell which time it was nor she cared. And the same went with her parents. She had expected panic to rise up inside her and hit her like a tsunami. Instead, watching Lisa's poor illuminated and soundly asleep face in front of her, brought her peace. And she would have left those calming waves lull her back to sleep if it wasn't for the warm she felt inside her chest.

She felt the sudden need to do something. Say anything.

"I love you, Lili" she whispered against the blonde's skin. Lisa's nose scrunched up slightly but apart from that, the girl gave no sign of having woken up.

Again, she wasn't sure whether she was telling this to Lisa or to herself. She was pretty sure the girl laying next to her hadn't heard her. But even if she had, she was doing this for herself.

Lisa's eyelids were moving erratically, like she was catching butterflies in her dreams. Jennie selfishly hoped that if Lisa was dreaming, she was dreaming of her.

Getting even closer to the girl, she shuffled so that her face could fit into Lisa's neck and let the girl's steady breath bring her back to what she knew would be a serene sleep.

Chaeyoung's insomnia just kept getting worse and worse. It was a Thursday morning and she was dragging her limbs down the road to her school. It was a path she knew very well and she remembered a period when she was, she'd dare say, excited about taking it every morning and every afternoon. That was because there were always the girls with them. Laughing, pushing each other and making Jisoo drop her ice cream were just some of the things that filled her mind when she thought about the concrete pavement she currently despised.

Ever since she had started dating Loren, though, he would usually take her and retrieve her from school. She couldn't listen to her music when she was in his car and he sometimes went to fast. But still, her legs were thankful for not having to walk to school everyday back and forth. And, if Loren was in a good mood, he'd stop to get coffee on their way. Chaeyoung didn't like coffee, but still she thought it was a very sweet gesture of him.

Now that she thought about it, she hadn't seen or heard from Loren in a long time. When was the last time he had come to fetch her up to go to school? Or called? She couldn't remember any of that. But what struck her the most was that she didn't care. She was just too tired to spend her energies on yet another problem. There were enough already occupying both her days and sleepless nights.

She stumbled on a crack in the pavement and, as a result of her literally dragging her feet for miles, the back of her shoes were now hurting her feet. She was sure they were giving her blasters. Exactly what she was missing from that God-forsaken walk to school. She felt like crying; like stopping in the middle of the street and have a full on mental breakdown. But she was sure that she didn't have the strength to do even that and that her already puffy eyes wouldn't be able to shed a tear.

Anxiety crippled up her body when she heard the silent noise of an electric car slowing down. Getting kidnapped would be the cherry on top of this awful morning, Chaeyoung thought before throwing a side eye glance to the car. That's when she realized she wasn't being kidnapped. It was jisoo's car and her best friend was waiting for her to notice her.
