She lost Lisa.
She didn't know how or when. All she knew was that one second she was dancing freely, her strong presence behind her as her body pressed on hers from time to time, the next she was gone. Her arms had snuck into her waist to bring them closer and Jennie, for the first time, had not put up any fight. She had let her whole body weight down on her as if they were dancing a slow song. She was too drunk to care about the music or the people around her. All that mattered was Lisa.
So when she had turned around to look at her, surprise ( and a not so moderate feeling of panic ) had taken over her, her mouth open as her breath became heavier. Surrounded by sweaty people and air heavy with humidity, Jennie quickly started to make her way to the other side of the packed room.
The different set of lights hanged to the ceiling added to Jennie's confusion because of the stroboscopic effect they had created all around the place. A flash of blonde hair near the kitchen caught her attention and she was both relieved and disappointed to find out that it wasn't Lisa. Chaeyoung's eyes widened along with hers. The both of them stared at each other for a quick second before Rosie held onto Jennie's forearms with her hands and talked.
"Have you seen Jisoo?"
Jennie's face fell as she realized that the blonde girl might not be of any help. She could not hide the scoff that slipped out of her lips as she said:
"Don't tell me she disappeared too"
"What do you mean "too"? Where's Lisa?" Chaeyoung asked, the worry in the voice tangible.
"I was going to ask you. You haven't seen her?"
"No" she stated as she made the motion of looking through her phone for the blonde's contact "Have you tried her phone?"
"Yeah, but it just rings and rings"
Jennie brought a hand to her hair, a puff of air coming out her mouth in exasperation. Her mind felt heavy with the realization that it was probably going to be a long night.
Lisa and Jisoo had found themselves at the only place that did not stink of smoke or beer, only for them to find a pack of cigarettes hidden in one of the drawers. They stopped looking around right after discovering a pack of condoms which ignited their most genuine and surprised laughs. Taking a cigarette each, they moved to the walk-in balcony of the room. Each time they inhaled, they took long, nicotine-induced, stress free puffs.
They couldn't really tell how they had ended up in that exact situation, just the two of them. But, when the boy had asked Lisa if she could guard the room for him and make sure nobody went in to hook up, Jisoo's had been quick to recognize the mischievous sub tone he had given to his words. Hence why she made sure the blonde wouldn't be left alone in an unattended space. The cigarette smoking and the treasure hunting was just a bonus.
"Do you think they're looking for us?"
"Jennie and Rosie?"
Jisoo nodded.
"Nah, they probably didn't even noticed we were gone" Lisa said before taking another long drag of her cigarette. "Plus" she let out the smoke "the last time I saw them, they looked like they were in good company".
