By next morning, we were holding the panel to the hole of the boat while Darius carefully went around the edges of it with the sealant. "It ain't pretty but it should be water tight," Brooklynn said. Darius finished with the sealant and we stepped back carefully, waiting. The panel didn't fall from the boat. We sighed in relief.

"Dope. Let's leave already!" Kenji said.

"Oh my gosh, I can't believe it's really happening!" Sammy said as she shook Kenji by the shoulders.

"Buh-bye, Isla Nublar!" Brooklynn waved.

"We are out of here!" Yasmina yelled.

"Nothing can stop us this time!" I said.

"Hey, hold up, guys," Darius said, he closely inspected the instructions on the sealant tube with a grim expression. "It says here we have to wait forty-eight hours for it to set". A series of groans.

"Really?" Sammy asked.

"Nice job jinxing us Max," Brooklynn said.

Kenji did not look dissuaded or unhappy by the new development, "they have to say that for insurance and junk," he said, he walked over to the boat, "as your captain I pronounce this vessel seaworthy!" He banged his fist on the boat and the patch fell right off. He stared at us with a blank expression. Yasmina was shaking her head, none of the other girls looked impressed and frankly, neither was I. Kenji picked up the panel and put in Darius' hands. "I've got some captain stuff to do over there," he pointed back up the dock, "carry on," then he sped walked away from us.

"One more time," Darius sighed as he held the panel to the whole once again. I watched intently over Darius' shoulder as he and Brooklynn reapplied the patch to the hole in the boat. At that moment, Sammy walked up behind Brooklynn.

"Hey, can I talk to you for a second?" She asked.

"Kind of busy right now, but-".

"I need your help with something personal".

Brooklynn spun around immediately, the panel falling from the boat again right as Darius had nearly finished. He looked at her from behind with narrowed eyes. "Spill everything," Brooklynn said and ushered Sammy away to a private part of the docks. Darius scoffed at the two girls as they left.

I bent down and picked up the panel, "for the third and hopefully final time," I said. Darius nodded and I held the panel to the hole while he stuck it to the boat. Finally, with no other distractions, the panel stuck, but we still had to wait for a whole two days. I sighed, we could do this, just two more days. I remembered the last time we thought we were leaving in two days, it ended with me getting shot. I walked back up the docks, Kenji nearly collided with me as he spun around the dock with the compass in hand, I didn't know why he took it from the control panel on the boat but it looked like he was trying to figure out how it worked. "Keep an eye out, Kenji," I said.

"Sorry," he said, "I think the compass is busted," Yasmina walked over to us, "I keep trying to find north but the needle keeps moving". Yasmina grabbed his shoulder and guided him over to where north was.

"North," she said simply.

"Heh,I knew that," Kenji chuckled. I saw something on the ground, I looked down. It was Compsagnathus, the little buggers had found us again. Yasmina groaned and kicked at the Compy angrily.

Kenji put the compass on a crate and pulled out a quarter. "I got this. Grabbed some quarters from the penthouse. Best way to keep the Compies away, they love money". He threw the coin away and the Compy chased after it into the bushes.

"You mean they love shiny stuff?" Yasmina questioend.

"Same thing," Kenji said, "Like my dad always says, 'if you've got a problem, throw money at it'".
