Max waited outside the door of the classroom, listening to all the other students take their seats. He looked back and forth down the hallway of the building he was in, one side of the wall, painting after painting, probably previous students work hung up from hooks. On the other side was a barren white wall with windows that let the sunshine in.

"Alright, everyone, some things to cover before we begin," a feminine voice said from within the classroom. Max keyed in from outside listening. "First off we would like to welcome Yasmina Fadoula back into our fold after her experiences on Isla Nublar. Welcome back".

There was a series of customary applause that lasted for a few seconds before things died down again. "The second thing we have to cover is that today, we have a new student joining us today. Please come in," the teacher called.

Max took a deep breath before opening the door and stepping inside. As he walked over to the teachers side, who wa standing at the very front of the classroom, he noticed many of the other kids whispering to each other as he walked over, though he couldn't make out anything they were saying.

His eyes scanned the crowd of heads until he found a familiar head of black hair. Yasmina was situated in the second closest row to the front, she was looking at him, not giving away any expression, though Max could tell from the slight tension in her cheeks that she was trying very hard not to smile.

"Please, tell us your name and something interesting about yourself," the teacher said, looking at him with a genuine smile.

Max nodded back to her and faced the class again. "Hello, everyone. My name is Max Lockwood, and as I'm sure many of you may already know, I am a member of the Nublar Seven". Yasmina had warned him ahead of time that word had gotten out that he was part of that group, so there was no point saying something else, when that really was the most interesting fact about him. Or, well, the most interesting fact that wouldn't have people staring at him like he was insane.

"Thank you, Max. Take whatever seat is free".

To Max's inner dismay, no seat near Yasmina was open, so instead he took one near the back of the class placing his bag down underneath the table and getting his chair in.

Once that was over, the teacher began, going over some of the stuff they had already covered in previous lessons to catch both their returning and new student up to speed. They had barely made it five minutes into the class before he heard someone whispering to him.

Max tilted his head to look behind him, seeing a boy who looked happy he had gotten his attention. "Hey, you!" He whispered.

"Yes?"

"Are you really a member of the Nublar Seven?" He asked. Max nodded in confirmation. "So cool. Can't believe you guys survived, oh by the way, I saw you and Yasmina walking into the school together, you must be pretty close, huh? Did she ever say anything to you about whether or not she was seeing anyone?"

Max raised an eyebrow at the boy. He had spoken to him for less than thirty seconds and already he was trying to get into topics of discussions like that. For less than a second, Max felt the temptation to answer yes to his question and point to himself, but that wouldn't do anyone any good.

"Not sure, it's none of my business, after all," he settled for, shrugging his shoulders.

"Hm, oh well," the boy said, immediately sitting back and looking back at the teacher. Max turned back as well and continued to focus.

About an hour later, the bell rang and the entire class got up and walked out of the room. As Max was getting his stuff together, he heard the teacher calling him over. He put his bag over his shoulder and walked over to her, seeing Yasmina already there with her.
