A gentle hand shook me back to consciousness. I slowly opened my eyes and sat up. "Come on Max, we're about to leave," the person said. I looked over to see Yasmina kneeling next to me. I looked past her and saw everyone else grabbing the supplies and organising it. We were moving out. I thanked her for waking me and stood up and immediately began helping the others. Yasmina quickly rushed over to Sammy and helped to her feet, with some troubles.

In the corner of my eye, I saw Brooklynn pick up a can of careb chocolate, look at it for a single second and then discreetly toss it over her shoulder. She spotted me looking at her. I gave her a discreet thumbs up, telling her that it was a good choice before turing back to what i was doing. Just when we had finally got everything together and had grouped up, ready to move out, we noticed we were down a member. "Uh, where's Ben?" Brooklynn asked.

I looked around and didn't see him anywhere, I slapped my forehead and groaned. "Don't tell me he's run off again in search of Bumpy, of course he has. That kid is causing a lot of problems". Everyone was silent, all showing faces of annoyance. "Well come on," I said walking away. "Let's go look for him... again".

"Ben!" I called. The storm had broken away and the moon was once again shining down on us, which meant we could see pretty clearly now.

"Bumpy ran off because of the Scorpios-rex. Ben's probably going after her". Brooklynn said.

"Then I am going after him," Darius said and began to walk away in the direction Bumpy had run off.

"Dude!"

"Anyone else see the irony?" Yasmina asked. She had Sammy leaning on her, to keep herself from falling over.

"We all do," I said.

"Fine, let's go". Brooklynn said. "The sooner we get Ben, the sooner we get out of here".

Darius turned around with a look in his eyes that was beginning to become all too familiar. "We can't risk all of us. The Scorpios is still out there. I'm going alone".

"Again?" Brooklynn asked. "You don't always have to do everything alone".

"Get to the boat," Darius said. "If Ben and I aren't there by sunrise, well, you know what that means, and you leave without us".

"What?"

"Dude!"

"No way!"

Suddenly Darius gasped and turned around with a finger to his sleeps before pointing behind us with a frightened expression. We all spun around and stared back the way we had come. The jungle was empty and whatever Darius had heard, it was clearly no longer there. "I don't see anything," Kenji said. "Darius? Darius?" We all turned around and saw that Darius had disappeared. That was all a distraction so he could get away.

"Bruh," I said.

"Okay, picking up on that irony thing you were talking about," Brooklynn said.

"What do we do now?" Asked Sammy weakly.

Kenji sighed in defeat. "We go to the boat".

Brooklynn tried Darius on the walkie-talkie, but he didn't pick up. Kenji angrily kicked a stone into the bushes while muttering under his breath. "Stupid Darius thinking we're going to stupid leave without him on that stupid boat".

"Don't worry". Brooklynn said. "Kid's got major FOMO. He'll make it there by sunrise". Just then, we stopped dead in our tracks.

"But will we?"
