- "I am happy to eat Loki." -
Hulk gave Steve a smirk before jumping in the air and punching the aliens attached to buildings. Venom, Natasha and Steve began fighting all of the aliens.
Natasha got pinned to a taxi by one and electrocuted it before grabbing its weapon. Steve landed behind her startling the woman who pointed the weapon at her.
Both of the Avengers turned when they heard a small snarl. To their right, Venom picked up alien after alien and gobbled them up, decapitating most of them.
Venom slowly walked over and joined the other two, licking his lips in the process. The goop disappeared from Nova's body leaving the tall woman back on her feet as the two others stared at her.
"What?" Nova asked, snapping them from their thoughts.
"Captain, none of this is going to mean a damn thing if we don't close that portal." Natasha stated.
"Our biggest guns couldn't touch it." Steve replied.
"Well, maybe it's not about guns." Natasha stated as the two glanced to the woman.
"If you want to get up there, you're gonna need a ride." Steve responded.
"She's got a ride." Nova smiled.
Natasha glanced up at the tall woman who nodded with a small smile. With a final nod, Venom enveloped her body before picking up Natasha in his arms.
"Hold on, Natty." The creature smirked.
"Don't call me tha-" Natasha began but yelled out as the began running up a building. After jumping over numerous buildings and running up them, the two got shot at by Loki.
"Greasy weasel." Venom growled, still holding Natasha as he jumped over another building.
"Hawkeye!" Natasha yelled, over the coms, clutching onto Venom's bicep.
"Nat, what are you doing?" Clint asked.
"A little help?" Natasha quizzed, squeaking under her breath when Venom nearly missed a building.
"Sorry." Venom apologised, crawling to the roof and jumping on another.
"You're okay." Natasha smiled getting a toothy grin back.
"I got him." Clint was heard saying, interrupting their conversation.
Clint fired an arrow at Loki who fought it with a smirk. Suddenly, the small ship he was on exploded causing him to land on Stark Tower with a groan.
Venom took one last jump as he landed on the roof of Stark Tower, carefully placing Natasha back on her feet. Venom sunk back into Nova's body.
"Thank you." Natasha smiled, sincerely.
"Don't worry 'bout it. C'mon." Nova replied as they both walked towards the source.
"The sceptre." Selvig stated as Natasha and Nova reached the source.
"Doctor." Natasha mumbled.
"Loki's sceptre. The energy. The Tesseract can't fight, but you can't protect against yourself." Selvig said.
"It's not your fault." Natasha tried to console, crouching next to him while Nova stood behind with her hands on her hips. "You didn't know what you were doing."
"Actually, I think I did. I built in a safety to cut their power source." Selvig denied.
"Loki's sceptre." Nova realised, looking down at Natasha who looked back to her.
"It may be able to close the portal. And I'm looking right at it." Selvig explained, looking down a level to Loki's sceptre.
Nova walked to the edge and Venom stretched a tentacle from her torso, curled it around the sceptre and brought it for the roof while Venom slipped back into her.
Natasha took the sceptre off Nova and advanced towards the source where Selvig was standing near.
"Right at the crown!" Selvig yelled.
Natasha stood back as she pushed the sceptre into the outer barrier that was protecting the Tesseract. Nova looked at the sight with squinted eyes, trying to see past the blue light.
"I can close it." Natasha stated. "Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down."
"Do it!" Steve yelled.
"No, wait." Tony voiced.
"Stark, these things are still coming." Steve argued.
"I got a nuke coming in. It's gonna blow in less than a minute. And I know just where to put it." Tony continued, grasping the nuke.
"Tony, you know that's a one-way trip." Nova argued, looking between the portal and the source.
They looked up to see Tony holding the nuke and curving it up to the portal. The genius just missed the tower, going straight up through the portal as everyone watched in shock.
The Chitauri around them began to die, falling to the ground with small screeching sounds. The snake like creatures powered down and fell onto buildings and to the floor.
"Come on, Stark." Natasha muttered.
"Close it." Steve spoke, sadly.
With one final shove, Natasha pushed the sceptre all the way through the barrier, making contact with the Tesseract causing the portal to begin to close.
Everyone looked down sadly, not thinking Tony was coming back. However, they grinned, seeing his suit falling from the portal.
"Son of a gun." Steve muttered.
"He's not slowing down." Thor stated, swinging Mjolnir, about to take off.
Hulk soared through the sky, grasping Tony in his hands as he skidded down the building. The large man spun his body around, landing on the floor before pushing Tony's body off him.
Venom enveloped Nova's body before picking Natasha up who clutched onto the creature. The two jumped from buildings and slammed safely next to the group as Hulk roared waking Tony up.
"What the hell?" Tony breathed as Venom unwrapped himself from Nova. "What just happened? Please tell me nobody kissed me. Maybe Nova, though." The man smirked jokingly.
"Don't swing for your team, love." Nova chucked.
"You're a lesbian?" Natasha asked
"No, I don't swing for pricks." Nova shrugged back and the assassin smiled slightly.
"We won." Steve breathed with a smile.
"Alright, yay! Hurray. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it." Tony rambled.
"We're not finished, yet." Thor stated, grimly.
"And then shawarma after." Tony replied.
All of them went back up to the tower where they found Loki crawling across the floor, sitting on the steps. When he spun around, he saw all of the Avengers glaring at him while Natasha held his sceptre while Clint pointed an arrow at him.
"If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." Loki breathed.
"I am happy to eat Loki." Venom growled, his head stretching from the ex-assassin's shoulder.
"No, no. You can't eat Loki." Nova smirked while the god gulped.
