"Well, you bloody well did something, you pillock."

The Avengers moved to the lab to discuss what had just happened. Natasha had quickly changed and Nova had taken her suit jacket off, rolling her sleeves up angrily as she waited for an explanation. She had warned them and now they were obviously in some deep shit.

"All our work is gone." Bruce spoke up. "Ultron cleared out. He used the Internet as an escape hatch."

"Ultron." Steve mumbled over the word.

"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other." Natasha added.

"That's reassuring." Nova scoffed sarcastically.

"He's in your files, he's in the Internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodey asked, starting to walk around the room.

"Nuclear codes." Maria stated, cleaning some glass from her foot.

"Nuclear codes." Rhodey repeated in agreement. "Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can."

"Nikes? He said he wanted us dead." Natasha voiced.

"No, no. He said he wanted us extinct." Nova shook her head, glaring holes in the back of Tony's head.

"He also said he killed somebody." Clint spoke up.

"There wasn't anyone else in the building." Maria defended.

"Yes, there was." Tony disagreed, making a hologram of Jarvis appear but it was mangled and broken.

"What?" Bruce mumbled in shock, going near the hologram. "This is insane."

"Jarvis was the first line of defence." Steve said. "He would have shut Ultron down. It makes sense."

"No. Ultron could have assimilated Jarvis. This is strategy. This is rage." Bruce explained.

Thor suddenly stormed through the lab, making a beeline for Tony. The blonde picked up Tony by the neck as the smaller man struggled in his hold a bit.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Steve exclaimed.

"What's going around?" Clint asked.

"Stop, don't, come back." Nova muttered in a bored tone with a hint of sarcasm.

"Come on, use your words, buddy." Tony gasped out.

"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark." Thor responded, still strangling Tony.

"Thor. The Legionnaire." Steve demanded.

Thor let Tony down to the floor as the short man groaned.

"Trail went cold about 100 miles out, but it's headed north. And it has the sceptre. Now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor explained and Nova rubbed her forehead tiredly.

"Genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron." Natasha said with a nod.

"I don't understand." Dr. Cho started. "You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?"

Suddenly Tony started to chuckle loudly as if Peter Kay was performing a live show in the lab. Nova stepped forwards angrily but Natasha gently grabbed her arm, pulling her back and shaking her head.

"You think this is funny?" Thor demanded as Bruce was shaking his head at Tony to try and stop him laughing.

"No." Tony turned around. "It's probably not, right? This is very terrible. It is so... Is it so... It is. It's so terrible." Tony laughed.

"This could've been avoided is you hadn't played with something you don't understand." Thor said angrily.

"No. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony spat at Thor.

"Tony, maybe this might not be the time." Bruce spoke up.

"Really? That's it?" Tony span to Bruce. "You just roll over, show your belly every time somebody snarls?"

"Only when I've created a murder bot." Bruce defended.

"We didn't. We weren't even close. We're we close to an interface?" Tony quizzed.

"Well, you bloody well did something, you pillock." Nova hissed.

"And you did it right here." Steve added. "The Avengers were supposed to be different than S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony asked, pointing a finger in the air.

"No, it's never come up." Rhodey responded sarcastically.

"Saved New York?"

"Never heard that."

"Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing 300 feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the livelong day, but that up there, that's... That's the endgame. How are you guys planning an beating that?" Tony questioned looking a round at everyone.

"Together." Steve stated.

"We'll lose." Tony argued.

"Then we'll do that together, too." Steve nodded. "Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making at smaller."
