- "I can get you to them if you come with me." -
Hulk roared loudly and the robots started to storm towards them. The Avengers fought them off as they got closer and closer to the core. There were hundred of them, flying towards them and blasting at the heroes.
Above them, Ultron angrily fought with Vision, trying to win the battle. Vision used the Mind Stone to over power his creator, sending him away from the core. Thor saw this and used lightning to do the same while Tony used his suit blasters. Ultron started to crack and melt, overcome by the amount of power.
With a groan, Ultron stood back up when they stopped.
"You know, with the benefit of hindsight-" Ultron got cut off by Hulk who punched him, sending him flying.
The robots were starting to fly off the edge of the flying city.
"They're trying to leave the city." Thor spoke up.
"We can't let them, not even one. Rhodey." Tony said.
"I'm on it." Rhodey voiced.
"We gotta move out. Even I can tell the air is getting thin." Steve told everyone. "You guys get to the boats. I'll sweep for stragglers. Be right behind you."
"What about the core?" Clint questioned.
"I'll protect it." Wanda replied definitively. Clint looked at her and she glanced back. "It's my job."
"Nat." Clint nodded in the other direction. "This way."
Natasha looked to Venom who nodded with a toothy smirk. Steve and Venom ran off, collecting the last civilians they could. Steve shooed Venom away who reluctantly went. The alien crashed into the back of Clint and Natasha's stolen car before sinking into Nova's body.
"I know what I need to do." Clint said. "The dining room. If I knock out that east wall, it'd make a nice workspace for Laura, huh? Put up some baffling. She can't hear the kids running around. What do you think?"
"You guys always eat in the kitchen anyway." Natasha responded.
"No one eats in a dining room." Nova spoke up, leaning between the two.
Clint stopped the car and they could hear Hulk roar. Natasha and Nova looked to each other and Natasha nodded for Nova to stay and help the people.
"We don't have a lot of time." Clint said.
"Then get your ass on a boat." Natasha smirked before leaving the car to go and calm down Hulk.
Nova jumped out of the back and ran towards two small children who were stuck in some rubble. Running towards them, she pulled away some of the rubble and got the kids free. One of them was a small boy, the other a taller girl.
"I'm not gonna hurt you. Just come with me and I'll get you back to your guardians." Nova smiled.
"Where's Mummy and Daddy?" The boy whimpered, holding onto his sister tightly.
"They're on a boat. I can get you to them if you come with me." Nova continued.
The kids listened and she picked them up, placing one on each hip. She ran towards the lifeboats, placing the two on the floor and waited to spot their parents.
"What your name, sweetie?" Nova asked the girl.
"Maddie Samuelson." The girl answered, clutching onto Nova's arm as bullets went through the sky.
"Thanks. Uh, is there a parent of Maddie Samuelson in here!? Maddie Samuelson?!" Nova called and there was a hand that shot up.
A small woman came barreling forwards, embracing her two children with tears eyes. Nova sigh in relief, stepping backwards and out fo the lifeboat.
Nova turned around to see Natasha passed out on the floor. Venom enveloped her body and ran towards her, picking her up. The alien jumped into the air, landing on the helicarrier and placing Natasha on the floor.
Hulk landed next to them before grunting and running away to try and get Ultron. Venom sunk back into Nova's body and the tattooed woman hugged Natasha close to her body, holding the back of her head lovingly.
"Oh, God. You're okay. Thank Moses." Nova mumbled, pulling back from the hug to press a lingering kiss to the red heads lips.
The two ran inside the carrier after pulling back realising Hulk was now too far away than he should be. They turned on the computer to connect a call to the Quinjet and smiled at Hulk who had his back turned.
"Hey, big guy." Nova started and Hulk turned around.
"We did it." Natasha smiled. "The job is finished. Now we need you to turn this bird around, okay?"
"We can't track you in stealth mode. So help us out. We need you-" Nova was cut off by the call ending.
Natasha looked up at the woman in worry. Nova stared at her with the same expression before pulling her into a hug, running a hand up and down her back to try and relax her but she was just as worried.
