- "I'm not gonna eat myself, Steven!" -
"It was him." Steve spoke up, sadly. Nova's head tiredly looked over at the blonde. "He looked right at me like he didn't even know me."
"How is that even possible? It was, like, 70 years ago." Sam questioned.
"I have a parasite in me that eats people and I have a friend that turns into a giant green man, anything possible on this fucked up planet." Nova grumbled.
"Zola." Steve stated. "Bucky's whole unit was captured in '43. Zola experimented on him. Whatever he did helped Bucky survive the fall. They must have found him and-"
"None of that's your fault, Steve." Natasha said weakly and Nova sat up straighter, staring at the sleepy red head.
"Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky." Steve mumbled glumly.
"Drama later. We need to get a doctor or get me out of these." Nova gritted, seeing that her belt had been taken off of Natasha's arm and she was now bleeding freely. "If we don't put pressure on that wound, she's gonna bleed out here in the truck."
"I agree. But weren't you dead about two seconds ago?" Sam quizzed.
"Natasha come first." Nova grunted, sitting forwards and one of the guards flashed their baton at her.
The same guard then flipped the baton and hit the other guard in the stomach, electrocuting them. The other guard groaned as the guard kicked them in the head, their neck twisting before they passed out, falling limp on the floor.
"Ah. That thing was squeezing my brain." Maria muttered, tugging the helmet off. "Who is this guy?"
The five of them escaped using a tool to get rid of part of the bottom of the van. They then traveled to a secret location where Maria was driving them.
When the van stopped, Steve and Sam got out first before Nova stumbled out, a bit more awake than she was before. The tattooed woman helped Natasha out, letting the red head lean into her side.
"GSW. She's lost at least a pint." Maria called into he grimy tunnel, running ahead.
"Maybe two." Sam shouted after her.
"And get some chocolate. A lot." Maria continued.
"Let me take her!" A doctor ordered and Natasha kinda of shoved herself into Nova but more.
"She'll want to see him first." Maria replied as they continued down the hall.
The three Avengers glanced at each other in confusion. Leading them to the bottom of the hall, Maria pulled back a curtain and Fury was lying in his bed, attached to an IV drip. He turned to them as they appeared in the doorway.
"About damn time." Fury smirked.
"You're a real knob-head, you know that?" Nova asked rhetorically as someone handed her a large slab of Cadbury's. "Is this real shit?" The doctor nodded. "Oh, yeah baby."
