Elizabeth's POV
"Alright! Let's get going." Aubrey said, wrapping her arms around me. I jumped and looked at her. "Aubreyyyy."We laughed and I watched as Nellie followed us out.
"Don't worry about it Aubrey, I can drive us." I pick up my keys and open the door. I look to Aubrey who nods and gets in my car.
"Alright. So, we're going to go buy things for Nellie's room and then we are going to get her some more clothes." Nellie and Aubrey nod and I put Aubrey's phone on the aux.
I put on Aubrey's 2000's playlist and we all sing our hearts out.
"Nellie? You know these songs?" I ask her. She nods.
"I may have been born in 2005 mom, but I don't live under a rock." Aubrey laughed at Nellie's response and I let my mouth form a small smile.
We get to the store and Nellie immediately walks over to the rose gold bedding. I let Nellie pick out what she wants for her room while Aubrey and I try to help as best as we can. We also get Nellie the bookshelves she wanted and then we check out.
"Lizzie, can we stop and get coffee?" Aubrey asks me as we drive by our favorite local coffee shop. "Fineee." I let out. She laughs and I get us all coffee.
"Thanks mom." Nellie tells me. I nod. When we finish our coffee, I pull into the mall and park. We walk in and Nellie turns and looks at me.
"Woah mom! This is huge!" I laugh as she looks around the mall. "Let me guess, You don't have malls as big as this in Florida?" She shakes her head. "Alright come on. We need to get you some more clothes for the meantime until we go back to Florida to get your things."
We buy Nellie some clothes and then while Nellie and Aubrey go find some place for us to eat lunch, I slip into Tiffany & Co. to buy Nellie a necklace.
"Alright, where did we decide?" I ask when I meet up with Aubrey and Nellie.
"This girl has never had Johnny Rockets!" Aubrey explained pointing to the sign. "Well Aubrey, she didn't grow up here like we did." I say.
Aubrey grabs Nellie's hand and we go into Johnny Rockets. I sit down in our booth next to Nellie with Aubrey sitting across from me.
After we order, I sip my Cherry Shake and hear Aubrey start laughing.
"What Aubreyyy!" "Lizzie, you have a whipped cream mustache." Aubrey reaches over and removes it from under my nose with her finger. I start laughing and Nellie looks over at us.
"I swear you guys are bi." Nellie tells us. I keep laughing. "Once again Nellie, we are not."
Once we finish, I pay and we leave the mall. On the way back, we keep singing along to Aubrey's playlist until we got home.
"Thank you guys. I gotta get heading home but it was nice meeting you Nellie!" Aubrey hugged us and we said goodbye.
"Did you guys have fun?" Robbie asked, coming to help us move everything into the house. "Yes we did." I kiss Robbie and help unload.
After we finish setting up Nellie's room, Robbie goes to work on a song and I close the door to Nellie's room. I sit down with Nellie on the bed and pull out the bag I got from Tiffany's.
"I wanted to surprise you with something, as you're my daughter. Then I remembered, when I was your age my mom got me my first Tiffany's necklace and I still wear it off and on today. So, I got you one to remind you that I will always love you."
I open the latch and place the necklace around Nellie's neck, securing it in place. "It fits!" I exclaim.
Nellie jumps up and hugs me. "Thank you so much mom! I love you!" "I love you too."
