Elizabeth's POV
After we get home from the farmer's market, I start putting things away. Realizing I needed to get some more groceries for lunch, I decided I should go to Costco."Okay, I'm going to go to Costco, does anyone need anything?" I ask, grabbing my sunglasses and my purse.
"I'm good." Robbie responds, kissing me.
"Mom, can I go? I've never been to Costco before!" Nellie exclaims, looking at me. "I don't know what's so exciting about Costco, but I guess you can come if you want to. We just gotta make it quick." "Okay mom, and it's because they don't have very many Costco's where I'm from." I laugh and we leave.
I drive to Costco and Nellie and I get out. We walk around and find what I need for lunch and dinner tonight. I get us some free samples of frozen yogurt and then we head out.
When we got home, Nellie headed to her room and I worked on making lunch. I plated the dishes and went to get Nellie.
"Nel, baby, lunch is ready." She nods and follows me.
Nellie, Robbie and I sit down and eat lunch. I take our plates and then sit back down to talk to Nellie with Robbie.
"So, tomorrow we are going to start filling out the papers to work on adopting you Nellie. If you change your mind about wanting us to adopt you, let us know. It's gonna take a long time for all the paperwork to go through, so, it may take a lot of time for you to officially get your name changed." Robbie tells her. Nellie nods.
"I understand. Thank you guys for adopting me. I still want to go through with it." Nellie tells us. I nod.
We go to the piano and run some vocal warmups. Nellie decides she wants to practice a song that has been stuck in her head, so, she sings it.
"Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily
You found a new girl and it only took a couple weeks
Remember when you said that you wanted to give me the world? (Ah-ah-ah-ah)
And good for you, I guess that you've been workin' on yourself
I guess that therapist I found for you, she really helped
Now you can be a better man for your brand new girl
Well, good for you, you look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you, you're doin' great out there without me, baby
God, I wish that I could do that
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
Well, good for you, I guess you're gettin' everything you want (ah)
You bought a new car and your career's really takin' off (ah)
It's like we never even happened
Baby, what the fuck is up with that? (Ha)
And good for you, it's like you never even met me
Remember when you swore to God I was the only
Person who ever got you?
Well, screw that and screw you
You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do
Well, good for you, you look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you, you're doin' great out there without me, baby
God, I wish that I could do that
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Maybe I'm too emotional
But your apathy's like a wound in salt
Maybe I'm too emotional
Or maybe you never cared at all
Maybe I'm too emotional
Your apathy is like a wound in salt
Maybe I'm too emotional
Or maybe you never cared at all
Well, good for you, you look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you, you're doin' great out there without me, baby
Like a damn sociopath
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily.""Wow Nellie, that was good. Do you act?" I ask her, looking into her eyes.
"I do theatre for fun." Nellie tells me. "You're good, I'm glad you do."
We finish vocal warmups and sit on the couch watching Black Panther on Disney Plus.
For the rest of the night, we just hung out at home. Just the three of us.
