22. LA Devotee

Nellie's POV
The next day, I wake up in the hotel room. We were on the border of Arizona and California. Meaning, after today, I would begin the rest of my life in California, the place I always wanted to live. I mean, it was under weird circumstances that I would be moving there, but I was excited to start the next chapter of my life.

I walked out onto the balcony connected to my room before Lizzie and Robbie are up and looked at the desert surrounding us. It was crazy to think that I was at the start of something. I stayed outside and felt the crisp morning air surrounding me.

When I started to feel cold, I went to take a warm shower. However, after I had changed and was ready, I couldn't find Robbie or Lizzie anywhere. I started to panic, thinking something happened to them, when I see a text from Lizzie.

I lay down in the bed and turn on Disney Plus. Bored, I put on the first episode of WandaVision, being that the 50's episode was always my comfort episode. When I finished, Robbie and Lizzie walked in with breakfast.

"Morning Nellie." Lizzie says, coming over and hugging me. "Morning mom, just finished re-watching the first episode of WandaVision." She smiled and placed a croissant in front of me.

"Thanks mom." "Of course sweetie."

"So Nellie? Are you excited to move to LA?" Robbie asks me as he eats his bagel. I nod. "Yes. I finally get to live where I have always wanted to, plus, I get to be your daughter." "Aww." Lizzie lets out. I laugh and hug the two.

"How's House of M?" Lizzie asks me, taking a sip of her coffee. "I haven't started it yet mom." "Wait-you haven't started it yet?" Lizzie looks at me, concerned. "No, I felt guilty about what happened between us, so, I hadn't started it yet because Wanda would remind me of you. I'm gonna start reading it today." Lizzie nods and we finished eating.

We got in the car and Robbie started playing my musical playlist again. About five minutes into the drive, Robbie speaks up.

"Welcome to California!" Robbie exclaims. Lizzie and I clap and I take a picture of the California sign.

"Now, 3 hrs till we get to LA." Lizzie says, putting her arm around me,as she was sitting next to me. I smile at Lizzie and we kept singing along to show-tunes.

When we reached what I believed was Lizzie and Robbie's, I saw a woman who looked like Aubrey Plaza holding a banner with someone who looked like an older version of Lizzie.

Upon a closer look at the banner, I can see that it says "Welcome home Nellie".

"What is my mom doing here?!" Lizzie exclaims. "That's your mom?" I ask, getting a nod from Lizzie.

"Surprise!" Robbie said, smiling at us. "I know you've wanted to see her ever since the end of the pandemic Lizzie, and she wanted to see Nellie, so, we wanted to surprise you." Elizabeth smiles brightly.

When we get out, Elizabeth runs directly to her mom and I go over to Aubrey Plaza.

"Hi! You must be Nellie, it's so nice to meet you." Aubrey says, smiling at me. "Aubrey, it's so nice to meet you! You were so good in Ingrid goes west." I hug her and she hands me the banner. "Thank you so much Nellie."

"Hey Aubrey? I have a question for you." I tell her, thinking of the question that's been lingering on my mind. "Yea? You can ask me anything honestly." Aubrey takes a drink from her Water bottle and I ask. "Are you and Lizzie secretly bi for each other?" Aubrey spits out the water and looks at me. "No! We are not, don't give your dad that idea." I laugh and Lizzie comes over and takes my arm.

"Nellie, this is your god mother Aubrey and your grandmother. Mom, Aubrey, this is Nellie." Lizzie says. I wave and Lizzie's mom comes and hugs me.

"Hi sweetie, it's so nice to meet you." Lizzie's mom tells me. "It's nice to meet you too. Thank you for Lizzie and the twins, they're a gift to the world." She smiles and I look over to see Lizzie and Aubrey laughing at each other.

I start to grab my things with the banner in my hand to move my things inside and I drop it. Suddenly, Lizzie's mom turns around and looks at Lizzie and Aubrey.

"Elizabeth Chase! Get your ass over here and help your daughter." I laugh as I watch mom run over to me.

We move my things inside and Elizabeth says goodbye to her mom.

"Okay Nellie, I know your room isn't fully done yet but I want you to go up to the room right now, there's something for you." Lizzie tells me. I nod and run up the stairs to the room.

When I get to the room, I see a basket on the bed filled with things.

"Woah! Is this all for me?" I exclaim. Lizzie and Robbie nod. I look through the things and see a weighted blanket, a Scarlet Witch comic, adult coloring books with colored pencils, a moleskin journal, pens, and Cheezits.

I hug Robbie and Lizzie and thank them. Somehow, they had gotten what I loved.

"Thank you guys. Those are definitely things that calm me down." I smile and get ready to leave with Lizzie and Aubrey.

Before we leave, Lizzie turns to me and whispers in my ear. "I have an entire closet with things for that time, it's in the hallway right next to your room. Anytime you need them, just grab them okay?" I nod and hug Lizzie.

"Thank you mom."
